I think people are being overconfident. Real Madrid may have had a poor start to the season, but they've won the La Liga title for the last couple of seasons and have some quality players.

To be honest mate I don't class those four as top teams.

Lyon were good a few years back but are nothing to fear anymore. Only reason they constantly make the Champions League is because French football is so sh*te. Bayern were good in the late 90s early 00s but again are nothing to fear. Valencia haven't really be a threat since Benitez left for us and Roma are a really poor side in my opinion.

Real Madrid are a top team. They might not be the dominant force they once were, but they are still a top team and they have players in their team that know what it's like to be winners.

This is a big two legs of football. Bigger than playing Roma, Bayern, Valencia and Lyon. The days of seeing European teams like that as a top side are over for us. We are better than that.

We always face good opponents in the last 16 round

2008/2009 - Real Madrid
2007/2008 - Inter Milan (who was unbeaten all season till they met us and then went on to not win for a few games)
2006/2007 - Barcelona(2005/2006 UEFA champions league winners)

Let's hope we can get pass without anyone having to get injured and let's hope all our players won't get injured. We lost Xabi and Daniel Agger for a long period last season

I'm looking foward to the Real Madrid game because real aren't having the best of seasons so far and with Ramos in charge at madrid I belive we can progress to the quarter finals but we have to focus on the league now and wait till febuary for the big game in madrid

Juande basically said he's worried about drawing Liverpool because they're such a great team, but he's sure that liverpool are just as concerned about facing Real. Don't know what he's been drinking, smoking or consuming in pill form, but it must be an incredible drug.

Beginning the end of this coming May towards infinity people are going to be talking about how Liverpool gloriously won the 6th title beginning with a scalping of Real Madrid.

I was at the Parc de Princes stadium the one and only time we met Real Madrid in the European Cup, it was a disappointing match to be honest, but of course all that is forgotten when you win.

I feel this encounter at this stage of the competition will be a couple of awesome matches, Rafa the great tactician outwitting Real's new man Ramos.

Looking forward immensely to these matches.

Our boys will be totally up for it and i know for sure that Juande is shitting bricks coming up against the best CL manager in football right now. We have the second leg at Anfield which will provide us with a massive boost.

I really hope that one of our boys, no matter if its player/coach, reminds Juande of how his tactics really struggled against Rafa

What an absolutely dream tie. I was hoping to get Inter but this is just as good. We will win over two legs no doubt. Real arnt the team they used to be and it will be Rafa who will win this for us. Id say he was secretly hoping to get Real IMO. He probably knows as much about Real as he does about Liverpool. Cant wait for it.

I have wanted us to play Madrid for a lot of years now and finally we will. The 1st leg is either going to be 1 or 2 days after my birthday so it would be a great birthday present from the reds to beat them

I tell you what guys, these games are not  going to be easy, anyone who gets to this stage of the Champions League is going to be no walkover, they will certainly do their homework on us, but you know we have one of the best tactical astute coaches in football today.
