Gary McAllister sacked by Leeds

Former Liverpool midfielder Gary McAllister has been sacked as manager of League One side Leeds United.
Leeds have slipped to ninth place in the league table and suffered a 3-1 defeat to MK Dons over the weekend.
 
McAllister succeeded Denis Wise as boss at Elland Road in January.
 
"The board took the decision following the recent poor run that has seen the club slip to ninth in League One," read a statement on the club's website.
 
"The decision was made to ensure that the new manager, when appointed, has the maximum number of games possible to move the club up the table.
 
"The club would like to place on record its thanks for the loyal service given to Leeds United by Gary since joining the club as manager in January 2008, and wish him every success in the future."

Sad to hear it but I think it was a bit of a wild decision to take over there anyway.

Just like Wenger will do when he runs out of excuses, did you here the sh*t he came out with after the game, how they came out the better side in the second half and would of won but for the sending off. he will never go to heaven telling porkies like that.

I haven't really got any sympathy for Leeds as a team but I do have a lot of time for Gary Mac, top bloke, he won't be out of a job for long.

Venison, Wenger is a whinging whinge bag, and doesn't ever see an incident when it's one of his players, but is always first to moan to the 4th official as soon as one of his players breaks a nail

Don't worry Gary Mc, you'll be in another job soon. The expectation at Leeds is too big, they think because of the name of Leeds United they should be automatically be walking away with League 1.

Simon Grayson is the new Leeds manager. Don't understand why you'd drop a divison from the Championship and Blackpool to League 1 and Leeds.

From a Liverpool prospective it's not too bad, because our on loan winger Adam Hammill returns at the end of the year so even if Blackpool's new manager doesn't rate him or play him it's only for a week or so at most.

Rather difficult, you see whenever I saw Gary in a Scotland shirt I thought xyzed!  When Liverpool signed him, wtf? However, that 00/01 season and his many goals changed that. Did he score in 5 consecutive matches or am I dreaming said? Pretty sure someone did. Followed the free kick on the Easter Monday(crap reffing and commentary, cheers witto!!); with a pen against Barce... his 1st since THAT one at Wembley. I think... UEFA Cup glory.

Still remember the FA Cup that year.. Mr Owen.... his 1st from a Gary FK, Hyypia knock down. Patrik Berger- fantastic pass to Mr Owen.

Missed the 2006 final as I was at the Scottish Cup Final which also went to pens, had to blag the outcome from some random person. Quite 'content' that both my teams had won their respective finals...

I was always a great fan of Gary Mc, even before he came to Liverpool.

I always said he should have not gone to Leeds as manager, to much to soon.
I think he was offed a job at Liverpool, he should have took it, or a job just like it, and let him learn the job as a coach, before going into management.

What a coach he would have made, players would and can still learn so much from him.

I wish him all the very best, and would still like him to come to Liverpool.

i would think that, current status notwithstanding, leeds is obviously a bigger club with bigger potential than blackpool. probably bigger crowds even though they are down a division. plus, for sure, a bigger salary would have been at least a part of his decision.
