Robbie Fowler, being at his best when I was a kid, was a huge factor in me supporting Liverpool. He was a genius and was my favourite player up until his departure. However, harsh as it may seem, I am of the attitude that its better to burn out than fade away. While I have respect for Robbie sticking to what he loves doing when its clearly not out of necessity (as the latest football rich list indicates), I cant help but feel that he's tainting his legacy by continuing to keep a grasp on a professional career. I fear that the younger generation of fans will look at him as "some old guy who cant hack it in the big leagues any more." I wish him all the best in pursuing his career, but I hope for his own sake he considers retiring before his reputation as a God around anfield fades.
