Renewed confidence - up to 2007

I am going to post a bit of an optimism thread here lads and lasses.

I think the fixture list hasn't been kind to us in our first 10.  I reckon we have had one of the toughest starts to the season but just looking at the remaing Premiership games up till Christmas and I see no reason why we (hopefully) can't turn it around and go on the kind of run we did before last Christmas (except this time we are about 10 points closer to the top than we were this time last year).

Arsenal away prob the toughie amongst the group.  But I don't see any reason why we can't win most of those games.

There is 33 points available in them lot.  We should be aiming for at least 25, and with a bit of luck maybe nearer 30.

Certainly achievable, as you say the only toughie is Arsenal, the rest should be a walk in the park.  If we play like we did on Saturday i have every confidence we can get minimum 30 pts.  Aim high !!!    

I agree Koolkidda, with out getting carried away, I think are toughest games are behind us, Im just a bit worried about Arsenal and 'Boro away. Thats a tough week, Arsenal are looking good and 'Boro is one of those places thats never been too kind to us! But I do expect a big points haul from the rest of those games and we might be back up there in the mix going into the new year  

the only difficult ones look like aresenal and pompey the rest we should win quite easily.

I hope Rafa sticks with the guys who played so well on saturday. The less "tinkering" the better for now. A bit of conistency and continuity is required and this should bring wins, points and confidence.

More good news folks if you look at the last 10 games as well they are all games we should win there is no reason for us not be in the mix at the end of the season.

It is not as though we haven't been playing well already we have created enough chances in almost every game to win comfortably so hopefully more the goals will start tto flow soon and we will be right up there again.

Good post - a bit of optomism never goes amiss - we had it at half time in Istanbul anyway.

The thing is, when we are playing well, all our games look easier.

It's when we're going through a dodgy patch that the Wigan's away and the mid-week Pompey's look ropey.

When we're winning well we feel more confident, and unsurprisingly so do the players, and you can definitely sense that at Anfield.  We need to push on, and another three points on Saturday I think will push us on for the rest of the season.

So we didn't have the start we wanted, it's in the past now - when have we ever made anything easy for ourselves???!

We are always playing catch up but we all know that we are capable of going on a winning streak it is just up to the others to drop points now.

One of mates said the performance against villa was like watching Arsenal.Instantly I told him "NO THIS IS LIKE WATCHING LIVERPOOL".

a bit like this season's away performances.

Must admit seen nothing of all the other British teams games this week.

The next two league games should be 6 points. Simple as.

Yes we should win the next 9 games no problem but i think we might be a bit too arrogant at times so lets just think about the next game (like Rafa says )

We will win those games, its just unlucky that we have had the 4 or 5 of the hardest away games of the season slap bang in middle ofthe bedding in period for some new signings, the fightback starts here.

Charlton away - Charlton have been sh*t this season.  Let's hope they don't raise their game against us.
Watford home - That should be a Christmas present for all Liverpool fans.

Blackburn and Spurs - I'm a wee bit concerned folks.

We'll win a blackburn, but I would take a draw at Spurs now. They're doing really well at home and we never seem to get a result there!! Just as fate has it I cant go to Blackburn but I will be making the long trip to North London its a good bevvie down the seven sisters and White Hart Lane is one of the only places Ive never seen the reds win, so im going to cross my fingers and sods law says Ive got to see a Reds win there soon so you never know!

I would love us to win but the reality is that Spurs have been playing really well at home and we never seem to do well there. I dont look at everything through red tinted specs. This game will cost me around £80 in ticket and travel alone and i'll still be there but I am expecting a very difficult game and I dont know, given the season that we have had if Liverpool can go and win at Spurs. I will go and support my team all the time and we will always beat Spurs at home but the truth is having watched the reds home and away this year I dont if we are good enough to go and win at Spurs, I hope we are but we'll only know at 5pm on 30th Dec.
