      Madrid's three main football teams are Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano. Getafe is a city in the Madrid Metropolitan area and is not included for the purpose of this question.

      the guy appeared in three world cup final tournaments 1978,1986 & 1994 and is his country's most successful/famous player and was named in 2004 by Pele in his top 125 living footballers as the only player from his country.

      Nice on mrtommo yes he is 52 on friday and flying out to South Africa for the World Cup tomorrow night, after I've given him his birthday card in the morning !

      Used to admire to way he used to play. Short, stocky guy but could score some brilliant acrobatic goals !!

      I told him when we were out on friday night that I felt in awe of the talent he had/has as a player, he was truly the greatest player of his country.

      I remember that Crouchie, wasn't it Derby or Forest in the 70's I'm a great one for stats and remember seeing the league table !

      Edit ; got the team wrong, but remember it happening !

      Actually Crouchie 8 teams did it and 2 in the same season !

      I must admit I was under the impression that it couldn't be done because they only play
       38 games BUT I've found 2 teams ! won't spoil it though.

      I seem to remember Coventry doing this, but as an added bonus of geekiness, didn't they have symmetrical results home & away, Home W 9 D 7 L 5  Away W 5 D 7 L 9 or something similar.
