You're completely missing the point. They are average players. When they turn it on and play to the top of their game, they can beat anyone. When they play average, their usual level, then we get exposed like we did against Watford and other teams. Beating the top teams does not mean your players are suddenly great. It wasn't long ago that Manchester City got beat by Cardiff City. Are they suddenly a team of great players now as well? Of course not.

There will be players here now who can step it up when better players come in and it'll help elevate them to the next level. The others are average and won't kick on because that is their level. Its time more of our fans accepted that.

I think a lot of us will be inclined to agree with that.  There will have to be personnel changes.

There something in this knee jerk response business. The latest KJ is towards Benteke. Before that it was Baliotellu and Andy Carroll. When a new player starts he's under pressure to proove himself. If he cost mega money that puts him under more pressure. When there's a drop in his form because of the move and expectations - what do they do ? Lots of comments appear online and in the press about how the new aquisition hasnt lived up to expectations and doesnt justify his price tag. Then the players confidence is affected and other team members start thinking if he's not on form maybe its best not to pass to him too much. Then the media talk about selling the player and he starts to get dropped from the starting eleven more frequently.spending lots of time on the bench. By then its too late to turn it around and you have another failed ace.
The antidotes are: patience and support and restraint when criticising a new player. Working on Team Spirit instead of dropping players and always reaching for the cheque book would help to change attitude. If we want to win then we have to help the players to win. We must change from the "drop him" mentality to the "let's take time to help that player achieve his best" mentality. That's what Jürgen is trying to do and we need to learn to go with him.
