Some discussion that as both Gerrard and Mascherano are one yellow away from suspension (as is Carragher) that may be one of the reasons Mascherano is on the bench.

Bearing in mind the ref losing both of them for a game would be pretty bad bollocks.

I'd imagine it will be the latter seeing as Lucas is primarily an attacking midfielder. But you never know with Rafa

If when they have had the 5th yellow and a ban then it carries on, e.g. 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and when they get a 10th it is another ban.
