      The Ashes
      Nov 22, 2006 11:28:24 pm
I am a bit of a fan of the cricket on the side - but tonight's reds game has messed up what was to be my new routine.

Wake up @ Midnight - have breakfast watch the cricket.

Have my lunch at 6am - just as cricket finishes on Sky.

      8am - go to work.

      Midday - have my Tea.

5pm - come home from work. Go straight to bed.

Anyway.....Come on England!!!!!!!!  Let's bring that little urn back home.

You could well be right.  They are definitely mocking us in this first test match by going in to bat again when they didn't need to.

Oh, how I would love it if there cunning plan backfired on them and we did bat for two days - but - unlikely :(

Come on England, Bat the last day out and get a draw. That would be funny, I thought Ponting was a bit cocky batting again and not making England follow on!  :)

Yeah just checked.  Good stuff.  Let's face it thought.  They will have us bowled out quck enough.  However I wish I had laid a incey-wincey bet when England were 125/1 to win this test match.  When the Aussies came back in to bat.

Restored a bit of pride with last night's score.  Just need a bit of Istanbul spirit.

After watching the first test i'd say Harmison needs to sort his bowling out - erratic does even come close to how he bowled in the first test - although duncan fletcher is claiming he will be needed for the 2nd test.

According to Botham on SS the adelaide test pitch could suit two spinner, also heard aussies may drop warne but may bring back Magill

We should have started with Monty, but our batting attack also needs a kick up the arse - play like the way we played in Brisbane and it may well be a whitewash - just hope am wrong

Sat up til 6 this morning, watchng england collapsing like a deck of cards, to be quite honest Shane Warne was simply magic.

England played like they were looking for the draw, ultra defensive then couldn't get themselves going when the sh*t hit the fan.

We made about 60 runs in a total of three sessions which is just not good enough, although Strauss and Harmison wickets were not out.

I seen England battle back by taking 2 wickets but the aussies were looking too strong ands thats when I decided to go to bed

Can't see us retaining the ashes now!!

Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of a draw.

England declared way too early.  They should have carried on batting while they were playing well in the first innings.  Maybe would have had a better chance of making the Aussies follow on.

Could not believe it when I woke up this morning.

The Ashes are lost my friend.

To be honest I don't think there is a massive gulf in class but like so many sports, and Liverpool have had a problem with it this season, I think England are severely lacking in the mental attitude department.  The Aussies will be pissing themselves laughing today.

I am afraid when we wake up tomorrow morning the Aussies will be celebrating winning the Ashes and the Christmas test will be meaningless.

England messed up in the second test in a big big way.

16 years to win the Ashes back and we cock the defence up like we did!! But we are better than we shown and unlike the Aussies we have age on are side!! ;)

Total respect for Warne, he's getting on now and he's had so many injuries that he must ache in places that us normal people never knew existed! But this guy just keeps stepping up to the very top table and delivering, its rare that you get to see the best there has ever been during your life time but Shane is the all time best, Now lets hope he retires!

And Harmy's retired from one day cricket.  Not that his record was much good anyway.  Has anyone seen the squad for the one dayers against Australia and NZ.  It's a bloody joke and they'll prob be whitewashed in it too.  And the one dayers are the only matches I could get tickets for >:(

Ah well, i'll maybe see something special from KP or Monty!

This topics gone a bit quiet over the past couple of days.  I wonder why that might be ???

Even the barmy army here in Melbourne have lost interest after yesterdays debacle but the aussies are in full song, not suprised really!  Lucky I couldn't get tickets for the fourth or fifth day and saved me a few quid.  But I did get to an Irish pub last night were the barmy army headquarters was and they did cheer up a bit after several pints of guiness ;D

      warnes retiring after the series!

Thank god for that.  Has to be the most miserable effort by England so far.  A test match over in 3 days.  Are they having a laugh.  Sod the flights.  They can come home on a F***ing ship as far as I am concerned.
