      The Ashes
      Nov 22, 2006 11:28:24 pm
I am a bit of a fan of the cricket on the side - but tonight's reds game has messed up what was to be my new routine.

Wake up @ Midnight - have breakfast watch the cricket.

Have my lunch at 6am - just as cricket finishes on Sky.

      8am - go to work.

      Midday - have my Tea.

5pm - come home from work. Go straight to bed.

Anyway.....Come on England!!!!!!!!  Let's bring that little urn back home.

You could well be right.  They are definitely mocking us in this first test match by going in to bat again when they didn't need to.

Oh, how I would love it if there cunning plan backfired on them and we did bat for two days - but - unlikely :(

Come on England, Bat the last day out and get a draw. That would be funny, I thought Ponting was a bit cocky batting again and not making England follow on!  :)

Must admit - I stayed up till about 2am last night watching it.

We were 40 for 2 - and I still haven't dared look at the score yet....but your post Crazy Horse has given me some optimism (?false) - gonna go check it now.

Yeah just checked.  Good stuff.  Let's face it thought.  They will have us bowled out quck enough.  However I wish I had laid a incey-wincey bet when England were 125/1 to win this test match.  When the Aussies came back in to bat.

Restored a bit of pride with last night's score.  Just need a bit of Istanbul spirit.

I love Cricket, but I think it's safe to say the England team aren't what they were when we won the Ashes last year. We're getting a right beating... where's Simon Jones when you need him?

The need to get monty pannesar in for the next test, in place of giles, he's a better bowler but now we need our batters out there.

in my eternal optimism of all (almost all!) things English, i'd say that we've just lulled the aussies into a pretty well established sense of false security! and that's typical of them! fancy playing cricket in the middle of the night! it'd never happen here!

this, of course refers to the fact that the most quintessential of english citizens - obviously i'm talking about Commander Bond - has been played by an Irishman, & even worse a Scot! but that's a whole different topic!

After watching the first test i'd say Harmison needs to sort his bowling out - erratic does even come close to how he bowled in the first test - although duncan fletcher is claiming he will be needed for the 2nd test.

According to Botham on SS the adelaide test pitch could suit two spinner, also heard aussies may drop warne but may bring back Magill

We should have started with Monty, but our batting attack also needs a kick up the arse - play like the way we played in Brisbane and it may well be a whitewash - just hope am wrong
