Underrated Strikers

False hope. Anelka won't stay at a club for long.  Anelka isn't under-rated IMO. I think he's a streaky player and can be on fire and then next game invisible.

As a person i don't particularly like Anelka.However you can't knock his ability as a striker.Also imo he is better now than the time period he spent with us!He now seems less greedy and more inclined to bring others into the game.Have to agree with earlier postings re Kevin Davies he is defo underrated.

Kalou, I believe is one of them. I have always personally thought that hes a fantastic player. Carew, Lisandro Lopez, and maybe Llorente.

I honestly believe the reason Rush isnt mentioned as much as Shearer is for the simple fact hes Welsh. If Ian Rush was english, newspapers and all the rest of the media would be kissing his arse as much as they do Shearers.

I think Obafemi Martins is a good player and actually think he would be a good signing for us, especially if Newcastle go down, he will be available on the cheap.

I agree I think that anelka is underrated and I wish we kept hold of him.

I have to agree with you there. He himself has said that while playing with us has brought the best out of him. Remember what he said before. I qoute:

“I played my best football at Liverpool. I played in my best position," he said.

“There was Michael Owen, who’s a natural goalscorer, and Emile Heskey, who sets lots of things up for you.

“The three of us complemented each other. My main aim is to play well and that’s where I differ from real strikers.”

Not so long ago in 2002 he said the same about Liverpool, I qoute:

"Manchester City's new signing Nicolas Anelka has said that he would rather still be a Liverpool player."

He's an opportunist center forward, He made a lot of goals in Spain and Italy now.

But not under-rated. He's a highly rated striker, but rightly so. He's always in the right place at the right time, good in the air and a good finisher.

Diego Forlan. Last 3 seasons he has produced amazing form in La Liga and watching Athletico alot this season, he is a very good player and has some pace and finishing on him.

That's why I said he's under rated. Not even mentioned by any big clubs but always give his full commitment in the game..

Saviola. He is an excellent striker. He deserves more credit then he recieves.
