the way I see it is he is eligable. he went on loan, which has now turned into a permanent deal.
if he was still on loan, then no, but he has signed now for Wigan, so yes he can play.

i feel immense sorrow for this guy, he has the potential to be one of the great goalkeepers of our time but has missed his chance at a big club due to seemingly being made of glass! i wish him every (well almost every!) success at his new club & am glad it's not too far away - he probably doesn't have to move house & hence reduces the risk of serious injury while lifting something heavy!
