Teams you have a 'soft spot' for
      Feb 20, 2009 12:42:28 pm
I'm interested to see if people on this board have 'soft spots' for any other football clubs.

For example, you might have been born in Rome and therefore you support AS Roma too. Or you might support your local team in a lower division, for example Huddersfield Town etc.

Could even be for reasons such as you were given the teams football top when you were young and ever since they have become your favourite team in that league, or you still check their results to see how they're doing.

Don't anyone dare say they have a soft spot for United! Or the blueshite for that matter...

      :D

Have to admire the way Barce play football. No problem with them what so ever.. Celtic have a huge following here and have a good bond with us so Id be happy to see them do well. After that I could care less really

I like Valencia, not because of Rafa because i didnt know who he was about 7 seasons ago but me and my uncle like/d them. Dont have soft spots for alot of clubs, Juve abit, Charlton because they are better than where they are at.

I guess if I was a Spanish football fan, I'd be a Barcelona fan. I don't have soft spots for any Italian teams but I like Kaka though.

Well, I have a soft spot for Aston Villa and Fulham in the league!

I do follow my local side in Bristol.......the RED ones of course (Bristol City), mainly because I love going to the matches and we all know how hard it can be to get tickets for Liverpool.

Quite often go and watch Yate Town play too, buts that merely cos it's in walking distance from my house so I can have a few beers! ;D

I've liked Real Betis in La Liga for quite a few years now. I remember they had a set piece specialist called Assuncao who mesmorised me! And I like the kit too :).

A few years back whilst in holiday in Spain I bought the home shirt. On the way home, I was walking through the airport security when I hearding banging on the window and shouting in my direction. I sh*t myself. The guy ran over, stuck his thumbs up and said... Nice shirt!

So ever since, there is my soft spot for Real Betis.

Got to agree Brian, whenever I meet a Celtic supporter they are conviced that its a sectarian thing like they have with Rangers because Glasgow and Liverpool always invite parallels,so they think the same goes with us and the blueshite.I don't know if that went on years ago but it doesn't apply now I think the vast majority of LFC supporters back Celtic as a matter of course and theres only one team to support when they play manUre.

No mere 'soft spot', GrĂªmio from brazil is in my heart alongside Liverpool. But I like Valencia in Spain, Real Madrid a little (yet I want them to get totally crushed by us at Champions ;D). And really don't like Barça at all!

Thing that bugs me about Celtic is every one in Ireland thinks they have to show support to Celtic cos there seen as an Irish club. Nobody follows Hibs but theyre as connected to Ireland as much as Celtic and were founded before them. Anyway would be a sadder life I lead if I wasnt a red

Barrow in the Blue Square Premier, i support them just as much as Liverpool and I always have done. Brilliant gaining promotion to the BSP last year via the play-offs.

Hull City - I want to see them do well, and after seeing them make a flying start to the season it's saddened me to see that they haven't won a game in ages.

      Hope they stay up.

Got a soft spot for Sheffield United.

Local team and I often go to their games with some of my mates when I'm not going to Anfield.

Abroad I'd have to say Barcelona. Absolutely outstanding football they've been playing this season, a joy to watch.

Borussia Moenchengladbach, Celtic and AC Milan - probably because of their fans reactions to Hillsborough.

I'd also add Standard Liege to that after having a very good piss-up in town before the second-leg with some of their lads.
