I think if the everyone is fit then the team selection by Sign_YNWA is the best one to go with. I love playing big European nights and I hope we continue our great record under Rafa when it comes to playing in Spain.

I think 9 of them are guaranteed. The left midfield side could be given to Riera, Babel or Aurelio. If Aurelio does play at LM, then Dossena will slot in at LB. Prefer Aurelio at LB and Reira LM

True that, MsG. But i'm sure that the lads will be up for it especially the Spanish boys, also it's the Champions League - which was made for LFC - the fans will roar the lads on the pitch till the end and playing in a stadium like the Bernabeau (spelling?) doesn't come every day (for the reds!) and therefore memories of the win will be etched into the hearts of the fans and players FOREVER. I would love to see the papers on Thursday morning after having beaten Madrid the night before.

Tell me about it mate. Madrid game is completely different to the one we played today. We are a good side in europe.... We gonna walk in that game pumped up... hopefully the result is a good one so we can take the psycological boost to the next league game where to be fair Gerrard will start.

This competition takes on added importance now, because if Rafa doesn't come close to silverware this season I can see the American tw*ts given him the boot in the summer. Come on boys, let's get number 6 in Rome.

In terms of lineup I really hope Gerrard is fit because I do not trust Lucas in the middle against a team like Madrid, he'll get run ragged. Alonso is going to be important, if he's on form and runs the game we'll have an easier time of it. And of course Fernando needs to be at his best, but I have high hopes there because I get the feeling our boy El Nino is going to be pretty fired up for this considering his Athletico past .

The most important thing in the away league is to score. Even if you concede one, or even two, scoring is vital as it gives you the edge in the return leg, and takes a lot of pressure off back home. At this point I'll take a 1-1, or maybe even a 2-1 because that means we just have to score one at home and hold out, which I think we could do well enough. But still, optimistic me says 1-0 lead to take back to Anfield courtesy of a finely crafted Torres goal.

Real Madrid play slow, technical football. This suits us, because it gives us space to exploit.

I've went for 1-1 in the Prediction League, but I reckon we'll edge this. 2-1.
