UEFA Champions League 08/09 - 1st Knockout Round
      Feb 23, 2009 05:47:06 pm

Don't think there's one already for this season, so here it is now we are getting into the more interesting stages of the competition :).

      Dates - 24/02 and 11/03:

      Atlético  -  Porto
      Lyon  -  Barcelona
      Arsenal  -  Roma
      Inter  -  Man. United

      Dates 25/02 and 10/03:

      Real Madrid  -  Liverpool
      Chelsea  -  Juventus
      Villarreal  -  Panathinaikos
      Sporting  -  Bayern

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

United look to have bad defensive problems for tommorow, unless Fergie is up to his mind tricks again. Time after time we have heard him say players are injured when in fact they are perfectly fine and feature in the match. Hopefully it's true though, I think Inter could take good advantage of it.

Inter Milan to knock manure out of europe
      Reply #1: Feb 23, 2009 05:59:47 pm
Tomorrow night manure go to the san siro with an endless list of defensive worries.
Having watched Inter in quite a few games this season, i can see how most sides would be scared of their attackers.
Ibrahimovic has always impressed me the way beats defenders to the ball in the air and brings it down to create a chance. Scores some crackers out of nothing aswell.
Adriano chases every ball, he's strong, has great power and isn't bad in the air either.
I could say the same about most of their other attacking players.
Add that to the fact manure have the following defenders injured or banned: neville, brown, oshea, evans, vidic.
I can't wait to see what team they're going to field.
Mourinho said he expects them to play a very defensive game which they do pretty much every week and if they do i can't see them keeping inter out for 90 minutes.
I could seriously see them getting beat by 2 or even 3 goals. That would be brilliant for us because it means they'll have alot of concentration on the 2nd leg and possibly drop a few points in the league. We play them 3 days days after the 2nd leg which is the perfect time.
Inter have vastly improved since we knocked them out at this stage last season
Really cannot wait to watch this game tomorrow night and i hope Mourinho says something to annoy the hell out of Slur alex.
As much as i'd like us to be the ones that knock manure out of europe, it would add another huge fixture to our already difficult enough ending to the season and it might aid us in our title challenge too.
      Come on inter  :D

I just posted a thread about the inter/manure game tomorrow.
I really hope inter's attacking threats slot a few past manure's makeshift defence tomorrow
Can't wait to watch these games. It's times like this  that remind me why i love football so much.

I remember thinking last season when we were playing them at Anfield that we weren't going to score against them, until we did of course! :D

They have a very solid defence, hugely experienced side with pace, strength and skill. I think they can beat United over these two legs.

Mourinho will outwit Ferguson, I have a feeling.

Inter win and then that'll shut United up for a bit!

He always did in the EPL, apart from a couple of occasions.

If it was him managing the Chelsea squad in the CL final, Chelsea would've won, let's put it that way.

Let's hope that Inter does the job to deflate their huge egos.

I rate Ibrahimovic and Adriano highly as when they come to play, they can be devastating.

      Go Mourinho

never wanted jose mourinho to win more badly! thought i'd never say this, but i really want him to win this time. one thing that makes me optimistic about inter's chances are that unlike other premierleague managers, who just lick ferguson's ass and think that united are unbeatable & untouchable ( mr. wenger  ;) ), mourinho is not scared of united. he knows what it takes to beat united. and i think he will beat united!

Come on Maureen! You are the special one! Until you get to the next round.
I couldn't bear it if the scum do a clean sweep (I know we'll gt the CL and League, but i'd hate to see them get more than Carling cup Runner up.)

One good thing about Mourinho will be that he will be having none of this untouchable tag and be going in to win.
