Well if he's not coming to Anfield, my preference would be for him to go to Barcelona, his goal scoring record speaks for its self and any if any of the teams that we see our selves competing with sign him it would just make our task of over hauling them even harder.

If there was only one player to come to Anfield this Summer - it would be Villa, for me, every time.

I reckon this story is just another attempt to stir the sh*t pre-scum game.

I've just had a look over on Marca and EL mundo Deportivo and both sites are running with the story but attributing it to the British media, so your probably correct mate. :)

The mancs have been making the same noises for about 12 months Daz actually about the same time LFC were rumoured to be tracking Villa and Silva.
Their finances are as shredded as ours if not worse and their owners will be hoping they have a good run in the CL so they can cream the rewards, that will be the priority not throwing money at new players.
We are in the same boat but some time ago I think Villa expressed a desire to play with Nando and the manager is apparently prepared to sell players to get him, there's some way to go with this one.
As ever the rag is rehashing rumour to sell copy and there's really only one thing it's good for but that's if you got no toilet paper and a broken leg.

I reckon if we were to match their bid, he'd rather join us, to link up with his mate Torres. I'd hate to see him join the scum.

Have to say I'd totally agree with all that, their man love for each other is evident with the way they compliment each other and I'd hate to see him at the Mancs, both sets, The Chavs or The Gooners as I think it would carry implications towards our own ambitions.

To be honest, the source isn't the most reliable and i would put it down to paper talk. I can't see Villa ever going to the Premiership- he wants to stay in Spain and therefore if he does leave Valencia, which is a very strong possibility due to their financial situation, then he will probably go to Barca. However, i am going to contradict myself here and say that i am sure he would perfer to come to Anfield than another team in England.

We are entering silly season where every top player is linked with the Mancs/Chelsea/ Man city and every one of our top players are on their way out , take it with a bucket load of salt.

Im pretty convinced that Villa would prefer a move to Liverpool over any other english club just based on how strong our spainish link is and the fact hes up front with Torres, it would do wonders for both of them.
