Its actually being reported that Silva and Villa are to be sold in the summer as Valencia need to raise some capital.

Could give Rafa some of the vouchers i have from Amazon. Might tempt Valencia into selling them below, well below any money.

Whatever owners come in might want to appease the fans with at least one financial blowout, even if they then plan to rape the club for the next 4 or 5 years.

I'd take hand and all if that was offered. Not likely but think of the sell to buy policy we'd have then

At the risk of losing the plot altogether.
4-3-3 would look good with three additions next year.

I thought about the possibility of us going in for him and instantly shrugged off the idea in my head - We have no money, we're not in the champions league, and there are far bigger clubs after him, so we have no chance, right? Wrong. Think of this scanerio - either gerrard or masch say they have enough and go (I don't think we'll let both go), we get around 30 million to play around with from the transfer, then we have the 25 million that rafa reckons he can get from the unwanted members of our squad.

We have 55 million to spend (lets pretend the gob-shites will give us it all!), we could buy several players, a centre back, a left back, a couple midfielders, a winger, and a striker - but with an average price of around 10 million they would be no more than mediocare talent that won't help propel us to the next level.
What if we bought two players. One to replace the player that has left, and the other could be David Villa. Think about it - Sure we're not in the champions league, but Liverpool is still very attractive, and particularly the fact that we have torres and benitez to lure villa anfield. You might say I'm in dreamland and I'm probably inclined to agree with you. All we need is for the owners and the manager to realise we have to make this kind of risk to send us to the next level. To buy big, bigger than we have done before. It'll take exactly this kind of risk to get us out of this sh*t heap.

FC Barcelona and Valencia CF closed a 40 million euro deal for Spanish striker David Villa on Wednesday morning.

The Spanish international is due in Barcelona on Thursday evening and will have a medical on Friday morning. Villa will sign a four-year deal with an option for a further year.

Villa will be officially unveiled as a Barca player at 1.30 in the Paris Room of the Camp Nou. He’ll then make an appearance on the Camp Nou pitch. The stadium doors will be opened to the public.

      A goal machine

In his first two seasons in the First Division (2003-05) with Zaragoza, he caught the eye with his effectiveness in front of goal and earned a move to Valencia. The 28-year-old spent the next five seasons with Valencia, scoring 107 goals in 166 league matches.

Villa is a regular first choice in the Spanish national team and made a huge contribution to winning EURO 2008

      Wow.

Barcelona will be really, really strong now.

Never fancied ourselves signing him anyway. He would be too costly for a 28 year old.

If the dicks in charge of us had pulled their fingers out of their ar$es, the Stadium that was promised would have been built buy now, and maybe we could have afforded him this summer.....but no.

Villa starting, Ibrahimovic on the bench?

Striker David Villa moves to Barcelona from Valencia

David Villa will be unveiled as a Barcelona player on Friday after completing a £34.2m move from Valencia.

The Spain international has signed a four-year deal and is the first summer capture for the Catalan club, with Cesc Fabregas also said to be a target.

Villa, 28, is due in Barcelona on Thursday and is booked for a medical.

The top scorer at Euro 2008 despite missing the final through injury, he had reportedly attracted interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.

The man from Asturias, in the north of Spain, is a regular in his country's first team and will be highly fancied to make a big impact at the World Cup.

His arrival at Barcelona is likely to lead to increased speculation over the futures of strikers Thierry Henry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

After a board meeting at Valencia in the morning, Manuel Llorente, the president of the club known as "Los Che", said they had accepted Barca's offer.

"We have sold David Villa to Barcelona for 40 million euros," he told a news conference at the Mestalla.

"As everyone knows we could have done this deal last year but we thought at that moment it was best to keep our squad together to try and get into the Champions League.

"We have achieved that aim and finished third in the league, and he has contributed a lot towards this. We think it is a good sale and necessary for the economic situation of the club."

Outgoing president Joan Laporta claimed on Tuesday the club were "satisfied" with the 21-goal contribution of Ibrahimovic in his first season since arriving from Inter Milan.

Henry appears on the verge of a move to Major League Soccer, with Laporta revealing there was "a lot of interest" in the France forward from the United States.

If we get Turan a LB and Joe Cole, keep Masch and Torres, then we'll have a better XI.

      Aye true.

      Barcelona look very strong now.

As Res said, we really only need a few more players and we're sorted, first XI wise. The squad though? No comparison to the likes of Barca.

Does the Spanish transfer window open before ours?

I think they are pre contract agreements. Our league are doing the same aswell with Foster joining Brum on a pre contract today.

The transfer window should open as soon as every European leagues season has finished.
