Just one question - I see profits are going to the HFSG only.

      Thoughts?

RAFA: PLEASE BUY THE HILLSBOROUGH SINGLE
      Paul Eaton 06 April 2009

Starring many former Liverpool players, local musicians and members of the Hillsborough Families Support Group, the single is available to buy as a CD or download

"I was lucky enough to be at the launch of the single and I think it is fantastic," said the Liverpool manager.

"My message to our fans is to go out and buy it because it's for a very, very good cause. We must never forget the Liverpool fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough."

I'll be surprised if there's any left in Liverpool either.  Wanted to get a physical copy of it - but if HMV online aren't expecting it in for 21 days then they've obviously done a limited run, which is a bit of a shame.

The popularity bar on iTunes was full when I downloaded it, which is a good sign.

      21 days? Absolutely pathetic.

Apparently there isn't any left in Liverpool according to Radio City - which is no surprise.

I'm surprised they weren't expecting it to be popular.  21 days though? They get that X-Factor one out quick enough don't they?

Looks like we're relying on it to get iTuned up to number one then! ;)

Just heard that if you bought if from the LFC club shop it doesn't count towards the charts. How bizarre is that?

Bear it in mind - try and get it from a record shop or iTunes.

Gets even more ridiculous doesn't it. How on earth can the stock purchase not go towards the charts after a record is kept on sales?

Record shop or itunes it is!

I think they sold out at Anfield of 300 this morning and then got another batch in this afternoon which we're flying off the shelves.

I don't understand how it works, but I think Liverpool FC are obviously not on the database or whatever that makes up the charts.  Fair play, the profits still going to charity and everything but it's going to impact on the charts and the awareness of it? :(

There will be F***ing loads of people buying it Wednesday night etc.  And I'd imagine tons of people at the club shop in town as well.

Real shame that, but then, when has anything involving our club surprised you?

It's not on top songs at the moment.  I think most people are buying the EP because it's only £3 which is classed as an album.

Not sure how often it gets updated but it was 8th last time I checked and it had all the bars filled for 'popularity'.

My good lady is deputy manager in our local H.M.V. and was able (with a bit of directing  ;)) to get 50 copies of the single in: all of which sold out.

I suppose the money is still going to the cause but like you said, it will effect the awareness. Which will probably effect the sales.

Just to clarify for late joiners

*Please note, whilst the CD can be purchased from LFC Club Shops, only songs downloaded from i-tunes, or purchased from HMV will count towards the official chart position.

Seeing as HMV look like they've sold out if you're buying a copy from any of the club stores, make sure you do the iTunes thing as well for the charts.
