The French striker will partner Dirk Kuyt up front, while Javier Mascherano takes up a position on the right side of defence as Rafa Benitez makes four changes from the 2-0 defeat to Middlesbrough.

Liverpool line-up in full: Reina, Mascherano, Carragher, Skrtel, Insua, Benayoun, Gerrard, Alonso, Riera, Ngog, Kuyt.
Subs: Cavalieri, Dossena, Hyypia, Aurelio, Babel, Lucas, El Zhar.

Masch at RB could be a good move, just a question about his crossing but he's Argentinian, of course he can cross a ball ;) No Darby again and Insua starts when he didnt make the squad, wierd.

      2-0 win, N'gog and Benny.

I have to say, a few things have surprised me. I did not expect to see Ngog starting. And Masch at Right back? Shows how desperate we are. Anyway Vive Liverpool!!!

Nice to see Yossi getting his place, well deserved in my opinion, not sure about N'gog though, lets hope he flourishes tonight  ;)

I said about Masch playing right back in the Middlesbrough match day thread and now it's actually happened, well, best of luck to him.

Let's see if Masch is capable of being world class in more than one position ;)

Kuyt and N'gog up front could potentially be either very very frustrating or very good.

I told you Rafa would out guess us but I never thought it would be that team in a million years.

I think i just took it for granted that Yossi was starting when i read the starting XI. Didn't even realise he was their ;D its good to see him playing agaisn though.

Why on earth doesn't he give Stephen Darby a go?

      I can't understand this..........I'm 100% positive he wouldn't let Rafa down and he's a natural right back.

Oh f*ck!  All of a sudden I don't have a good feeling about this game.  Same as the last time I saw an 'experimental' line up.

I'm delighted to see Insua and Benayoun get a start and really pleased that Gerrard is fit enough to start but, Masch at RB and Ngog starting?  ???

      Please let it be alright.

      ;D

One thing i meant to add to my earlier post. Why, if we are so deperate for a right-back that we play Masch their, are we not giving Darby a chance??

      Why Masch at the back?

Seem to be a lot of rotation in the position now, first it was Skrtel now Masch.

      Or maybe it will turn out to be like;

                                                                      Reina

                                                  Carra              Skrtel          Insua

                                                                       Masch

                                             Yossi       Alosno              Gerrard       Riera

                                                                Kuyt            N'Gog

Great to see Insua play again!

Would have prefered Babel or El Zhar to play than N'Gog to be honest :-\

I am glad he is giving N'Gog and Insua a run out, both young players who need games under their belt and who knows maybe they can get the job done. Rafa has to try something to get things going though Javi at right back shows me Darby might as well leave the club because he isn't going to be playing any time soon.

hmmm....welll....ok..... i'm going to try and be positive about this but that doesn't look a great lineup....

agger must be really feeling left out...surely carra at RB with agger and skrtl in the middle makes more sense

It seems Carra has won his bitter dispute with Rafa because there was a rift earlier in the season about Rafa wanting Carra to play RB more often.

I would have played Hyypia to counter the threat in the air from Kennwyn Jones and played Carra rb . But lets give Masch a chance and see how he goes.
I'm going for a 3 nil win ( heart over ruling my head but... )
