6+5 Who would you sacrifice and who would you keep?

Just listening to Sepp Blatter today and he seems intent on pushing forward the idea of only 5 foreign players starting in each team, i was wondering who out of the current side would be kept and who would be sacrificed If this rule was pushed through, my 5 would be Mascherano, Alonso, Reina, Torres and Skertel couldn't afford to lose any of them.

Thats fair enough mate probably go along with you on that one,the bigger problem is finding the remainder of quality uk players or is it just english? That Blatter fella's off his F***ing head anyway he likes the sound of his own voice.

our squad would be decimated ffs. hardly got any brits in our squad of 40 let alone 6 for 1st team!

tbh for me I dont give 2 tosses abt international footi, Scotland are never gonna get anywhere, league & country is too small. can count on 1 hand the scots in the english PL now. all in the championship. But maybe that would change if there was rule, used to be loads in the 80's eh!?

Blatter was saying today that ferguson backed the idea but if you look at there team its full of foreigners as well, Van de sar, Vidic, Evra, Fabio, O shea(i wonder is he foreign being irish), Ronaldo, Nani, Anderrsson, Tevez, Berbatov and havent they just bought 2 Serbians for 17 million, I think they'd be as in big trouble as ourselves, I think Arsenal and Chelsea would be in big trouble also.

I think if the players have been trained and brought through the academy it does not matter, it is only a rule for senior bought players.

So I think we would be ok with Insua & most of the lads in the reserves.

I think the likes of hyypia would be ok as well. 10 yrs service must count for something.

Torres,, Reina, Alonso, Skrtel, and Insua. He will be the best left back in the game. Id allow Masch to go? thats not right keep masch and Skrtel out! Not easy this

This type of cr@p killed us off in the late 80's, when you could only have 4 foreigners. As we were made up of Scots Irish and Welsh we were stuffed! When we got a team of "English" they changed the rules, and the Scum were laughing, We were poor and they had developed a good team. The rest is history.

It has not been implemented yet & I believe never would be.It would really kill off the game.

Its not like we can have only 5 foreign players in the squad.You just have to have 5 in the starting line-up so we can certainly have more than 5 in the overall squad.Bargains like Aurelio can certainly stay put & be called upon whenever needed.

thats why we need more english player...
now,we only have hammil, anderson, hoobs,darby,spearing,martin,kelly and etc...
but..they need more first experience before move to the first team...

We used to have many English guys - Owen, Gerrard, Heskey, Murphy, Wright, Carragher, Barmby.. bla bla bla

you have to ask yourself where the next Fowler Gerrard carragher mcmanaman Owen is going to come from if it carries on how it is at our club and others?do you honestly see a home grown player at liverpool at the moment getting a fair crack at getting into the first team?i.e Steven derby?the only young players getting a chance at our club seem to be south American.

Yes it all depends on the definition, which I'm not sure about.

Reina - you'd have to hang on to this fella. We've tried a few supposed 'England's number ones' and they've all let us down.

Torres - no explanation necessary.

Alonso - hugely important to us.

Insua - I think the lads the real deal.

Skrtel - again another important player for us.

They'd be the keeps out of the starting XI.  I don't think currently our left or right winger's are streets ahead of what we could buy.  I feel the same about Arbeloa.

It's hard lines on Mascherano, but I could only save one of them.

Maybe they could 'rotate'?

Well 6+5 .... 6 English guys and 5 foreigners in the starting line up.

What if the bench consisted of Arbeloa, Mascherano, Agger, Benayoun, Cavallieri , Lucas and Aurelio?

Think how well Villa would do with this rule.

Blatter has been rambling on about this for years no one takes any notice,it really would be difficult to implement the objections would be neverending but bollocks would be made up with all that carry on.How these people get in positions of power mystifies me.

You cant do it its a restraint of trade. Its going nowhere,they can say all the things they want as they just want people to listen to them. Uefa and Fifa are run as is the FA by morons.
