      Another Supporter Stabbed In Rome
Rome was once more the scene of football-related violence last night, when an Arsenal fan was attacked with a knife before the game as a coach carrying supporters, who had travelled independently but had tickets, was attacked by a group of Roma ā€œUltrasā€ just outside the Olympic Stadium. It is the third time in less than three years that the visit of an English club has resulted in such violence.

The coachā€™s windows were smashed and at least one hooligan entered the vehicle, letting off a flare and stabbing a supporter in the knee. He was treated at the stadium and his injuries were not thought to be serious. One Roma fan has been arrested.

Arsenal had feared the possibility of incidents outside the stadium. Romaā€™s hardcore followers have developed a reputation for violence and in 2007, in two separate incidents 16 Manchester United supporters were stabbed near the ground when United played against Roma in the Champions League twice during the year.

Sad to see the trend continuing and this isn't something you would like to see when they are going to be hosts of the Champions League Final.

Well I remember at the start of the season he said that if there is any trouble throughout the season that he would pull the final out of Rome but I doubt he would have the balls to do it.

UEFA are a bunch of racists - if this had happened in England, what would the reaction have been? It goes on in Italy, yet little is said or done.

When English fans of any club are assaulted, even murdered, abroad, those clubs and countries are not penalised. Sickening.

I think everybody knows all the stories about the final in Rome in 1984.

I was concerned when I heard the final was there this year.  All the incidents we have seen at Spanish grounds and Italian grounds in the past few years - if that had occurred in England there would be hell to pay.

Sad to hear, but not remotely surprising.

I was at the final in 1984 against Roma, and to be honest it was terrifying, you can imagine what it was like after them getting beat on their 'own ground', you literally did take your life into your own hands just trying to get back to the coaches.

The Poilice offered little or no protection.

A lad on the coach next to us had been stabbed...........sicken ing it was.

Why would have the champion league final in Roma?
Just been confirmed by UEFA that no matter whats gone on , the Finals stays in Rome.

So UEFA says no matter what Goes on, What if liverpool fans or chelsea fans get stabbed or killed they UEFA wouldnt care they couldnt banned roma out of the champion league, it have to be liverpool or chelsea gettin banned they blame the team fans, roma would get away with it.

Believe it or not but in Italy the factions of hooligans have that much power they have a direct influence on the running of certain clubs sometimes right upto boardroom level.

It's difficult to believe that such scum can have such an influence on the beautiful game.  :f_steam:
