The young reds make it 5-1 with 10 mins of the 90 left.

Brannagan with his 2nd goal, Woodburn with his 2nd assist.

Wow. 6-1. Brooks Lennon with his first of the game, Brannagan with his 2nd assist - what a night he's having.

6-1, substitute Brooks Lennon in the 84th minute, another assist for Brannagan.

2 goals and 2 assists for Brannagan tonight!

Penalty for Spurs in the 96th minute...

6-2 unfortunate for the lads that.

Full time, all over, good win for young reds.

Didn't watch but that's an impressive scoreline for sure.

Glad to hear Branners and TAA having good games. Who would you say were the best performing players for us?

Also with regards Stewart and TAA starting it would appear they're not in contention for tomorrow so Jürgen going with a stronger line-up than some of us anticipated.

Interesting re soccerway. Do you reckon U23 matches get a lot of betting action?

I wouldn't have thought so. There are sometimes matches online that you can bet on but they're few and far between from what I've found.

The next game up is at home to Sunderland on Sunday. 1:00pm kick off on LFC TV.

After two losses at the start of the season, our U23's have won three in a row and take on Sunderland today.

      Here's the line-up:

No Brannagan, quite a surprise after his game at Spurs.

Woodburn has now scored six goals in five games for the U23's.

Apparently he drops out because Jürgen wanted Stewart to get a game mate.

Aha, didn't know that. Not the first game Brannagan has started on the bench for the U23's and apart from the Spurs game, I actually think he hasn't stood out as much as I thought he would. Of course with Woodburn, Ejaria, Trent-AA and Wilson in the spotlights, it could be that my focus has been more on them than on him.

Decent chance for Ings there, saved on the line by a Sunderland defender.

It's possibly because they know what Branners offers and they want to see others play but I agree that he's not been shining as much this season.  Maybe others, as you say have taken the limelight somewhat as I agree with you I thought he'd have stepped up again after spending so much time with the firsts.

This Grabara kid in goal is Woodburn's age isn't he? Where's Shamal George?

I believe he's still injured mate. Fulton, Ward & Bogdan all out on loan means our options are pretty thin.

Brannagan not starting isn't unusual. He often rotated with Chirivella last season even as captain. As a regular member of the first-team, minutes will go to Stewart before any of the under-23 players and Brannagan was just the choice today. It could also be said that with this many promising young central midfielders that one or two won't start from game to game.

How was that number 7 not booked? F***ing joke of a challenge.

He's developed so well in the past year.

      Ings makes it 1-0!

Well in Ings! Woodburn should've scored but good positioning from Ings.

Hopefully brings Sunderland out more and we can exploit the space.
