Liverpool flop Leto set for shock Juve move
Liverpool flop Sebastian Leto could be set for a shock move to Italian giants Juventus. The 22-year-old midfielder, who has spent the season on loan at Olympiakos, looks unlikely to return to Anfield in the summer with manager Rafael Benitez preparing to offload the Argentine Leto had been linked with a summer switch to France with Paris Saint Germain thought to be leading the chase.

But Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri looks set to win the race for Leto with the player determined to kick-start his career after a difficult time with Liverpool.

Well I wouldn't be afraid to let him go, especially if they offered a good deal.

Wtf? We haven't seen him played a game, Rafa rates him highly and therefore I really doubt he will move to Juventus! And I want him back..

never seen him played before and too early to rate him as flop...let give him a run in PL and then we'll take our stance from there...

Leto has played for Liverpool, don't know how many times but one game I do remember was the Carling Cup last year against Reading - Torres got a hattrick.

I don't think he's great, but he isn't dreadful. But I'd much prefer to see Adam Hammill as our future left winger than Seb Leto. I think Hammill can offer us more, so if Juve are prepared to take him off our books then I won't be brokenhearted.

Wouldn't lose any sleep over him if he left.

Not the worst player but nothing more than average.

He can't be classified as a flop. He's hardly palyed for us.

Still, for the right price I'd let him go because we seem to be doing fine without him.

Can he play in Italy? With all this about his work permit and all that, that's why he's on loan in Greece. So can he play in Italy? I don't know how all that work permit malarky works.

Italy has it's own working Visa thing, doesn't it? He may well be eligible for it. Who knows.

Leto, IMO, is worth keeping and see what happens and maybe get rid of him in 2010 if he is sh*t.

if he'll get a work permit to play in PL i think Rafa shouldn't sell him.maybe after a year if he turns out to be a "flop".he's still young and has a time to learn so give him a year in PL and then judge him.

For some reason the Argie's don't seem to have a problem getting a visa to play in Italy.

Liverpool set to admit defeat over winger
      05:05 PM 22 June, 2009
Liverpool Football Club look set to let Sebastian Leto join Panathinaikos.

Rafael Benitez had high hopes for the 22-year-old when he signed him in the summer of 2007, but the winger has been told he has little or no chance of a work permit.

Leto, an Argentine, spent last season in Greece at Olympiakos, but it is believed their archrivals Panathinaikos are on the brink of securing a deal for the player.

"I am very close to Panathinaikos," he said. "There are negotiations between Panathinaikos and Liverpool and as far as I know the two sides are very close to a deal

That is some slap in the face to go and join your arch rivals but I guess Olympiakos never wanted him on a permanent deal in the first place.

      Leto set for Panathinaikos
Reds winger admits he is 90 per cent certain to join Greek side

By Fotis Voinikas   Last updated: 22nd June 2009

Liverpool winger Sebastian Leto has revealed he is almost certain to move to Panathinaikos in the near future.

The 22-year-old is set to leave the Reds after it was discovered he would have little or no chance of gaining a work permit due to his lack of appearances on Merseyside.

The Argentine only joined the club in the summer of 2007 and spent the entire of last season on loan at Greek side Olympiakos.

The former Lanus youngster admits that he would have preferred to make his move to the Greek champions permanent but the offer never came.

"I am very close to Panathinaikos," he said. "There are negotiations between Panathinaikos and Liverpool and as far as I know the two sides are very close to a deal.

"I think that the possibilities to play at Panathinaikos next season right now are more than 90 per cent.

"I have been waiting for something from Olympiakos all these weeks but they didn't make a move to buy me so far.

"It's not a matter of money. I wanted to stay at Olympiakos but since they don't want to sign me I have to think about my future."
