Why can't we sign Joe Cole, he's a free transfer...just like, we signed Jovanovich on a free transfer... yes theres a signing on fee, yes theres wages, but that very same rule applies with any transfer.

Jovanovich is probably getting 30,000 or something basement level. Thats a quarter of the the cost of Joe Cole. Which is what we can afford, only. Not 120,000 on an injury prone Chav w**ker.

For someone who is very quick to defend Rafa with the money argument, i don't see how you think 6.25m per year on one player is affordable. He could well end up costing 10m inc. wages and sign on fee in the first year alone.

Anyway, on Martinez, we don't need him.

How much is Yossi on ?, Yossi's transfer fee, Yossi's saved wages = subsidising Coles wages, Chave w**ker ?, he's a quality player and he's "Free", were lacking quality on the left hand side and Cole would give that quality, F**k who's he played for its about improving the squad, So I take it your suggesting we go out and spend 15 million on Turan and then pay his wages ?

On Martinez I'd rather see him playing central midfield here than Luvas Leiva he's twice the player Lucas is.

For some I think it may be a tad hard to differentiate sarcasm and your genuine feelings when it comes Lucas, given your unadulterated support of him. ;D

I believe if a player really wants to come here, he will arrive regardless of City's interest.Look at Johnson,we managed to compete with Chelsea abd get him here so if Rafa really wants a player he will get it.

Yes but when for example say City offer 20 million for him were out we cant match that. Its just a horrible fact of life.

I'll just copy and paste what I said in the Dzeko thread, the same applies here :

In days gone by, if an agent wanted to boost the transfer value of one of his players, he would 'leak' to the press that Liverpool, ManUre, Real etc were interested in him.
Nowadays, they throw in Citeh and Chelski as they have more money to throw around. It's the same as if you go and look at a second hand car or even a house, the seller will often say, "I have someone else coming to look at it later" so you think, 'sh*t, I'd better get my offer in now and make it a good one'.
Citeh may well be interested but you should take any of these stories with a pinch of salt, 90% will be bollocks.

Just read a tweet that he's set to sign for Benfica.
Turns out the source was fake.

That bloody Benfica website where you can post a name in the link and it'll come up with that player signing for them.

I remember it happened with Kuyt.

Moved it here. The reason it was in the Kop was because usually when a transfer window closes we close the board that was created for it and move all the threads into the Kop until the next window approaches. Some threads which become irrelevant get forgotten about, missed and left in the Kop board to sink.
