Considering there are 5 mancs in this list, won't everybody at United have to vote for Gerrard seeing as they can't vote for their own? ;)

      ;D! Good Point!! :)

      Well spotted mate.

If I'm not mistaken didn't Ginola win in 99 when there were plenty of United players up for it too?

When I heard this to day I was almost lost for words. If anyone thinks that Giggs, Van Der Sar or Ronaldo are worthy of Player Of The Year then they know nothing about football.

      An absolute joke.

If I were to compile a list it would actually be exactly the same! Maybe Hangeland wouldn't quite cut it.

I will admit Giggs has been good this season for a guy who is 100 years old but honestly a player who what started 11 games this season should be top 6 players in the Premiership, give me a break. Some others I can understand but can be debatable like Rio and Van Der Saar because of that great record in terms of not giving up goals but to be  at the bare minimum you should be a starter for you club to be considered, not a squad player and the same goes with the young player away as well with Evans who started 11 and Rafael started 9.

What did Ferdinand do to be there?
And even though Giggs have played been there for every premier league season.... PFA player of the year is for player of the year a.k.a. the one who played well in that year and not over 10 years.

      Should be
      Gerrard - every year
Ronaldo - only because he is Player of the Year
Lampard - topsy turvy season but quite consistent
Alonso - reminds us of his 2004-7 self
van der sar - well for that 14 clean sheets in a row
Vidic - don't know why but everyone seem to say he's gonna win

      Young player
Insua - pretty good huh? I think he has impressed as much or if not more than Rafael
Ireland - arrival of Robinho but the player they didn't pay a penny for is the star
Ashley Young - pretty impressive till December
Aaron Lennon - always rated this guy
      Mark Noble ?
      Evans ?

But I still think Stevie should get it ahead of anyone.

I like your Player of the year award list and it would be pretty much the way I see it. As far as the young player of the year as much as Insua has done well he played what 7 games in the league. He would be lucky now to get 10 and qualify to get a medal if indeed we won the league. My list would be something like

      Young
      Agbonlahor
      Lennon
      Nasri
      Mikel
      Ireland

I think the PFA nominations are a disgrace! 5 players from Man Utd? If ever you needed any more proof of arse licking in your life. Obviously I agree with Gerrard, even take away any bias, anyone can see he has had a fab season. But sorry Giggs? Ferdninand? Van der Sar? Ok yes their season has been good but plenty more deserving players to take their place. Possibly lampard or terry or what about carragher??
