This will be a good game and a tough one. The morale of Bolton at the moment must be as high as mount everest, but I still think we can win this comfortably. Im going for a 2-0 in our favour with Kuyt getting both goals.

We should win this one 2-0,my only worry is that Bolton are good at set plays and also very physical side.I think we will still be smarting from the last time we played them, but I still fancy us to win 2-0 ;D

I'm going for a 3-0 win with stevie, kuyt and carra getting on the scoresheet. The floodgates are bound to open soon with the amount of chances we are creating. I just wish God could get a run and maybe put some of these chances away but I don't hold much hope. And Carra will score cos I dreamt it last night!!! ;)

The same old story all over a team but can't put the ball in the net. To be fair there have been many clear cut chances. Gonzalez is having another stinker!

Awesome game!!!!Especially second half and great goals. My prediction was nearly right. Pennant best game yet in a red shirt hopefully he can keep that up. The only poor display apart from the bolton team who were outclassed, was Gonzalez who looked like he'd never kicked a ball before. But with team displays like that he can be forgiven.  Well played lads and hopefully this year will be great and full of displays like that!! ;D ;D

what a second half! 3 great goals! good all round perfomance, Kuyt in particular stood out for me, better perfomance from Pennant. hope we've started the year as we mean to go on & make Anfield the fortress that it used to be once again. bring on the Arsenal!

Just got back from the game..

Really good second half, first was forgetable.

      Some really good performances today;

Pennant and Finnan worked the right hand side well and Pennant is beginning to show his real qualities and is improving in every game.

      Alonso was outstanding in midfield.

Kuyt worked his socks off again and finally got the goal his workrate deserves.

Crouch played with a hunger not seen for some time. Staking his place in the team and his future at the club.

      Bring on Arsenal now......

Have to agree on all points, especially about Pennant, I would say his second half performance was excellent today. I would though say his first half was his usual sloppy like play. I have been blasting Pennant lately for not giving the goods but I will stand up when Im proved wrong, and also give credit where credit is due he did well today very well, I just hope its not a one off and he starts to spark now. MoM for me was Peter Crouch, he wanted it badly today, and what a F***ing goal he scored similar type of thing to one he got against Galatasaray. All in all a throughly professional performance, we put Bolton in their place today they are not top 4 they are and always will be Top Ten nothing more nothing less.

Dunno bout Arsenal bring on Barce and Chavskis cmon red men great start to the new year.

Got to agree with you on Pennant, a great second half by him, but I would still like to see him run more at the opposition. Today, Bolton had a few players on a yellow card - we should look at running at those players more and making them either chance a bad tackle, or like we saw with Campo for the second goal, put in a half hearted tackle.

Kuyt today put in a never say die attitude and fully deserved his goal.

Crouch, also my Man of the match, showed some brilliant footwork and scored a beauty.

Alonso again brilliant in the midfield.

Kop watch - very poor until the goals flew in. (maybe a few hangovers in there, so not a critical comment)

fantsatic performance today especially 2nd half. thought it was Pennants best showing in a red uniform so far....and was really happy with his link up play with Stevie Finnan and Kuyt as well. Kuyt for me just shades it over Pennant for MOTM.....special mention must go to Sami and Jamie...thought they were rock solid down back....go you boys...catch Chelski then haul in the Mancs  :cool-smiley-027:hopefully this is going to be one hell of a year.

Happy New Year to all Reds wherever u may be.

Very good second half although we were always in control of the game, Bolton didn't have a clear chance to score and they should have finish the game at 10 man. Poll had a average game, he is really going down down down since his World Cup nightmare.

Pennant was great although like mrtommo mentioned he should do this on week in week out plus running more to the opposition. The goals were outstanding...and agree with you all Alonso played brilliant in the middle, Gonzales is not delivering so far, but I keep the faith. Finnan has been really good as usual, Stevie well what a finish, he is the man...and Finally, let's give credit to RAFA, the man is a genius and his tactics were spot on.

Arsenal is next on the list and the way we are playing now, I wouldn't be surprise with a 3-1 victory..for us obviously..
