We could do with a few more assists.. we scored plenty though which i was happy about. But I'd like our corners/free kicks to improve this season its something i notice a lot when watching Liverpool.. anyone agree?

As much as I think Alonso is a great player 30m-34m we got for him is a really good piece of business on Rafa's part when you consider last year he was going to be sold for half that price.

Yes our set pieces aren't are best quality's as a team so yes we could improve on that side of the game and really we do not have a play maker that set's up a lot of goal's some people might consider Gerrard but we need another person.

Think we made on Sissoko and Crouch transfers if i remember correct.. but i agree how Rafa spends this money is gonna be important, this will be the first time he has big money to spend on one or two players.

Agreed. Gutted he may be leaving - but some of the memories - Istanbul, goal from inside his own half - will be treasured for a long time.

Gutted he IS leaving. Course the memories will be treasured for a long tim. But i would have loved it if he stayed to win more with us. The Title or even another European Cup. It's so sad to see him go.

Certainly from corners! We seem to lack a real arial threat, we havn't had one since Sami used to be a regular. Don't know if we could sign a player that's a specialist corner taker though. Even without Alonso,Aurelio and Gerrard can take free kicks so I don't see that as a problem.

Liverpool Football Club this evening confirmed they had reached agreement for the sale of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid, subject only to a medical.

The terms of the deal will remain confidential and undisclosed.

If Rafa has managed to gain 30 million or more for Xabi I think that he deserves a lot of credit. Alonso's departure has seemed inevitable considering the lad put in a transfer request just a few days ago. Don't get me wrong im gutted that Xabi has gone, he has been awesome for us and the memories will live forever. However, we have gained a substantial amount of money with his sale. It gives Rafa some spending power and Im sure that he will use it wisely. I have seen the headlines about Poulsen. Not too sure about him myself and I have no clue on his valuation but I personally hope that we bring in a clever playmaker with some pace for a reasonable price and then perhaps go for a world class attacking player. Whether it be a winger to bolster the options out wide or a DAVID VILLA to bolster the options in attack. We'll have to wait and see. May the Rafalution continue! YNWA
