Steven Gerrard is the player most Premiership fans want in their team, according to a survey unveiled today.
Sky Bet polled British supporters and discovered that over a third were desperate to see Stevie G don their club's colours for the New Year.
 
The Reds skipper, awarded an MBE in the New Year, beat Arsenal's Thierry Henry into second place.
 
The top five most wanted were: Steven Gerrard (35 per cent); Thierry Henry (30); Ronaldinho (24); Wayne Rooney (23); Frank Lampard (21).
 
The research also revealed that the most highly-prized manager was Martin O'Neill of Aston Villa (18 per cent), with the Ulsterman beating his more illustrious rivals Sir Alex Ferguson (16), Jose Mourinho (11) and Arsene Wenger (10).

What? This has cast some doubt on the whole study!  Maybe it's all the supporters of those sides near the bottom who dream of some long-ball hoofing to get them out of trouble.

I'm not surprised to see Stevie been the most wanted, but to see lampard there..now that is a surprise, he is certainely not as good as people think. Overrated, over exposed player of the league...If he was so good, why is there no speculation whatsoever linking him to big club in europe???..

Now for the manager, where is RAFA?..2 titltes in 2 years, plus the three other with valencia, what did martin O'neil won?..Fergusson second fair enough, anyone putting in doubt his capabilities of coaching know nothing about football..
