      Fans Tournament in Ukraine
      Apr 19, 2009 10:26:41 pm
Hi all. Over at "This is Anfield", we have been given a great offer to participate in a fans football tournament in Ukraine. Here are the details....

      Quote
      Hello!

My name is Slavik, I am from Ukraine, I represent
      Public organization "Karpaty" (www.gokarpaty.org ),
which organize an international tournament for football supporters
      "Eurofan" in Lviv, Ukraine.

Maybe you would be interested to put together an amateur
      fan football team to
represent supporters of Liverpool FC during the
      international tournament "Eurofan-2009" in Ukraine?

Below I give you detailed information about the tournament.

Last year on 9-11 May 2008 we organized second "Eurofan" tournament
for fan teams representing different European countries.
Below I give you the link by which you can find a report about Eurofan 2008
tournament shown on the Ukrainian central TV channel in prime time:
      http://tsn.ua/bin/video.php?media_id=65 ... btype_id=4
On 25-28 June 2009 we will be holding the international tournament for
      football supporters
"Eurofan 2009" in Lviv (Ukraine) for the 3rd consecutive year.

Current list of teams confirmed their participation looks like this:

Zenit (Russia), Chelsea (England), Chievo Verona (Italy),
1.FC Koln, Schalke 04 (both - Germany), Ostrovia (Poland),
Wales supporters team, PSG (France), Atletico Madrid (Spain),
Heerenveen (The Netherlands), AEK Athens (Greece),
      Rapid (Austria), Westerlo (Belgium),
Karpaty (Ukraine) and the Team of Ukrainian showbiz stars.

That's 15 out of necessary 16 fan teams.

Tournament rules: 11-a-side teams, match consists of 2 times (each
      lasts 30 minutes).
During games we arrange live comments and music (speakers are placed
      around the ground,
DJ and commentator work with microphones).
Number of substitutes is not limited.
We arrange accommodation for 15 people for 2 nights in a comfortable
hotel (half board) - it is on us.
The 3rd night for those 15 persons and accommodation for extra members of
your delegation is on you (for one person one night in hotel costs 15-20 Euro).
Also we arrange and pay for an excursion tour around our city with an
      interpreter.
After the tournament we organize a celebration party with booze, meals,
prizes and mementos for all tournament guests (everything is on us).
Also all team members will be able to watch live shows of a large
rock festival in Lviv (one ticket valid during 3 days will cost about 10 Euro).
The “Eurofan” tournament is a unique event not only in Ukraine, but in
      all Europe.

As you may know, Lviv will be one of host cities for Euro-2012.
Our city is regarded the cultural capital of Ukraine.
It has quite interesting old architecture and resembles Vienna,
Krakow or Paris to some extent.

Herewith, we officially invite a fan football team
representing glorious Liverpool FC to take
      part in the "Eurofan-2009" tournament.

We have worked out that flying from any airport in Britain, to Krakow, then getting a bus to Lviv (both return) is going to cost just over £100. Add that to the free acoomodation and food and it is clear to see that this is a great offer. Anyway, basically we are struggling for numbers at the moment, so if you are at all interested, you can PM me, reply here, or visit here: http://forums.thisisanfield.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29245&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=25

Im known as rondog on TIA as well, for anyone interested.

If you need any more information, or have any questions, just write in here, or PM me.

      Cheers.

Cheers for posting - we had an email about it a while back through Anfield Online but I completely forgot to stick it on here.

I could probably manage a 5 minute El Zhar cameo substitute appearance in an 11-a-side game so unfortunately I can't make it, although it does sound cracking.

Thats a shame, we could still use a few more heads. The 10th of May is the deadline for this, so if anyone else is up for this, give us a shout a few days beforehand, just so that we can get this set up.

Good stuff, I'll PM you the details. It looks like we have got enough folk together to make a trip out of this, but anyone else who is up for it would be welcome to come along. The more the merrier eh?

We were looking at flights, accomodation etc. last night, and the whole round trip should cost about £150 (before the booze :( ) . Not bad really for a weeks holiday though.

Most of the team will be flying from Liverpool to Krakow in Poland, and then getting a night bus to Lviv, where the tournament will be held, however it is fine if you want to make your own way there, if you live outside the UK etc.
