Find it hard to see how NESV expect us to compete with the likes of City if there is any truth in the Huth and Cole rumours

Because like someone said, when the rule comes in about only being able to spend what you make (though I thought it was £25million more than what you make), with their wages and everything they won't be making much money.

I think it's highly likely that he's on his way to City for 27 million.

Why would anyone want to go to City? It baffles me, they will just get there play great for 3 months then be replaced with someone else. Jo, Robinho, Santa Cruz, Addebayor, Tevez, Ballotelli, Dzeko......really now?

I was literally going to post that, even for all the money, I'd rather stick at a club where I won't be tossed to the side 6 months down the line while the owners chase the next big thing.

Should we get Adebayor then? He is still damn good, and will be available now for sure.

I can't stand Adebayor either. Actually think he only looked good because of the players around him at Arsenal.

Yeah, most who go to Man City probably have $$$ in mind because even if they suddenly aren't in the first team, they wouldn't mind warming the bench because they've still got 100k entering their accounts.

And of course you have some who say they are interested in the 'Man City project'!

I actually pity Richard Dunne and Stephen Ireland. They were like Man City's long serving and youth product respectively and were shipped out just to accomodate bigger names. Even that Michael Johnson lad who was good like three seasons ago suddenly disappeared. Also such a pity that Craig Bellamy, who was out of favour, off all things, sent on loan to a team in the Championship.

First it was Benjani and Darius Vassell, then replaced by Roque Santa Cruz and Robinho(?), then replaced by Craig Bellamy, Carlos Tevez and Adebayor, and now Balotelli. It's just a cycle that keeps going on because they think it's a toy. Out with the old and in with the new.

Can't understand why players bother going there when even for the money, they know what can happen to their careers.

I don't think it's a cycle. While I don't like their style, I think they've just been building up to this. They've been replacing players with better players, but they can't get much better strikers anymore now can they? With Tevez and Dzeko they have 2 solid strikers, and in Balotelli a great striker for the future. I don't think they'll replacing any of these 3 soon, unless one of them becomes unhappy.(which isn't that unlikely with Tevez and Balotelli is it)

I'm sure Tevez will be off in the summer and Balotelli...... well his head is well fu**ed up. He won't be around for long i'm sure.                            Off to the nut house end of season.

      No..... Balotelli, not me!

So, back to the first post.

And we didn't have the £13M to buy him in May 2009.

Those bad bad old days.   At least I think they are the old days.

It's nice to be able to buy a player without worrying about who we are going to sell first. Makes all the difference. . . Hmm
