Katie Price and Peter Andre have announced they are separating after almost five years of marriage.

The couple's management company released a statement earlier today confirming the split.

The statement from Can Associates said: "Peter Andre and Katie Price are separating after four-and-a-half years of marriage.

"They have both requested that the media respect their families' privacy at this difficult time."

Katie and Peter met on the third series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004. The pair married in September 2005 and have two children - Junior, three, and one-year-old Princess.

The couple went on to appear in several series of their own fly-on-the-wall show for ITV2.

To be honest im not at all surprised, the missus had on their documentary thing last thursday and there was a massive argument between them.

Although it wouldn't surprise me if they did make up and sort things out.

Either way, im not bothered.

Katie Price last night revealed she was "devastated and disappointed" after Peter Andre called time on their rocky marriage.

The glamour model, 30 - known to millions as Jordan - is now holed up in a secret hideaway abroad as she comes to terms with the split.

But before she jetted out of Britain last night the mum of three said: "Pete is the love of my life - and my life.

"We have children and I'm devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life. This is not what I want and the decision has been taken out of my hands.

"I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation but I will always love my Pete."

The couple's three-and-a-half-year marriage had been marred by jealous rows on both sides over alleged flirting.

But the final straw for Peter, 36, is thought to have been a bitter row in a Los Angeles boutique - aired last week on their ITV2 show Katie and Peter: Stateside.

Katie contemptuously dismissed him as "an old f****** singer no one knows about" and and spat: "You're a f****** k***.

I can't stand you." As their manager tried to calm them down, Pete snapped back: "Don't ever f****** talk to me like that, understand?" A TV insider said: "Their rows were explosive but that one took the biscuit.
