Juventus and Genoa keeping tabs on Liverpool's Italian defender Dossena

Andrea Dossena's agent has claimed Juventus and Genoa are keen on signing the Liverpool defender.

Italian Dossena (right) arrived at Anfield from Udinese last year and the 27-year-old has three years left on his contract.

But Roberto La Florio told Itasportpress: 'I want to make clear that the player is doing well in Liverpool and has never said, as some sections of the press reported, that he wants to leave a club that is in the Champions League and equipped to win the Premier League next season.

'Having said that I can say Juventus and Genoa have asked for my assistance, but we are far from starting any negotiations.

'Any player in the world would not immediately reject any proposal from these important Italian clubs, but Dossena enjoys the confidence of (Liverpool boss) Rafa Benitez.'

I think he realized he's currently rated not that highly. Perhaps found displeasure in the offer and found it wise to creep back into our arms. But is he cracking up? Confidence ? Rafa said if he gets a good offer he can go. This coming after he said he wants to keep the core players, that will lead to the Championship...

Tough one. If we can recoup some decent money for him or use as bait for a better player then let him go.
If its only 2.5 mill then keep him and kick him up the arse!

 Italian sources suggest that Andrea Dossena's desire to leave Liverpool for Juventus will result in the Reds attempting to bring the best of Italian talent in the opposite direction.

Rafa Benitez is desperate to find a striker to play "in the hole" behind Fernando Torres and, despite his age, Alessandro Del Piero fits the bill.

The 34-year-old Italy international has been tremendously loyal to Juve, but the chance to play in the Premier League for Liverpool may be too tempting to turn down.

Liverpool will have to fork out a huge amount in wages for Del Piero, but the sale of Dossena to Juve will make him more affordable.

According to Italian sources, the details of the deal being negotiated is as follows: Dossena is valued by Liverpool at £8m, but Juve are only prepared to pay £6m if Del Piero moves in the opposite direction.

The sticking point is the terms of the deal being offered to Del Piero by Liverpool but, with £6m about to be in their coffers soon, the Reds feel they can offer the maestro a £60k per week two-year contract.

Juve bid 'would interest Dossena'

Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena is happy at Anfield but would consider a move to Juventus, his agent has said.

The 27-year-old Italy international has been linked with a return to Serie A after just one season in England but no offer has yet been made.

"If they (Juventus) decide to target my client then we would evaluate the offer," said Roberto La Florio.

"He is happy at Liverpool but Juventus is Juventus, and he's a little nostalgic for Italy."

Left-back Dossena, who is under contract with Liverpool until June 2012, joined the club in the summer of 2008 from Udinese.

Said it for ages he can't play left-back, he's a liability. Although he looked alright when he was pushed further upfield in the second half.

I wouldn't be sad to see the back of him, would liked more from him but I guess it wasn't to be.
