He's one behind Van der Saar (who put in that 11 game run this season).

If memory serves me right hadn't Reina won it every year since he arrived at Liverpool?  Anyway not too sure what happens if he equals it.

Do they get a glove each?

DLS will now.  What with being the Quiz Champion and everything.

I think Pepe Reina won it like 3 seasons in a row. This will be the 4th.

Reina won it in 05/06, 06/07 and 07/08. And if he keeps a clean sheet against Spurs will equal Van Der Sar's record for this season, providing the Dutchman doesn't keep a clean sheet against Hull.

So yes he's still in contention but personally I'd say it's safer to bet on United's keeper for the Golden Gloves. Lets not forget Spurs are still going for that seventh spot and no doubt Robbie Keane will wanna prove a point at Anfield on Sunday. This is all assuming Pepe plays at the weekend, which with not a great deal riding on the game from our point of view, it isn't certain he will.

As for what happens if they both end up with the same amount of clean sheets, I'm not too sure what would happen. (this wasn't one of the questions on the quiz otherwise I would know as the quiz was rigged ;) ). It might go the same way as the Charity Shield used to when that used to be shared. Six months at one club, six months at the other.

That's assuming Van Der Sar plays as well, he'll get rested before Rome, we all know what pissy kecks is like.

If Pepe doesn't play it won't matter on Van Der Sar playing or not though will it? Isn't he already one ahead of Pepe?

Doesn't it go to the one who made the least appearances out of the 2? which in this case would be that tosser at United.

Although, knowing the FA it has probably been changed several times. IMO if they both have the same number then they should both get an award.

A choice between a Unit$d player and a Liverpool one? Who do you really think the FA are gonna go for?  ::)

they'll make up any reason.... "uhh Van Der Sar won the award because... he was taller."

Personally I would like to see Reina win this but realistically I think Van der SARS will get this one as he got some clean sheets in a row...and why would those FA give to us as what they did in PFA. I could see this one going to the scum again this year.

Pepe will definitely play I think.

Apparently the bust up between Carra and Arby was over the desire to keep another clean sheet so Pepe could get the Golden Gloves.

Wouldn't make sense for Pepe not to play against Spurs and totally miss out on the chance to get it.

I reckon Old Whiskey Nose will rest Van Der Sar as he'll see the CL as being more important than Van Der Sar's pursuit of the Golden Gloves(obviously)

VDS will play I think, its been reported a couple of days ago that Foster is out for 9 weeks, and therefore will miss 2 england games and the CL final. So who is in to fill the void for VDS? I dont know, Ron Robert Zieler?

Highly unlikely, so VDS to start for me.

Pepe deserves it. Afterall teams actually took shots on him where by apart from ourselves and 1 or 2 others nobody actually bothered to test the credentials of the dutchman, who, as a goalkeeper myself,  believe to be suspect!!

If Reina had ears like Edwins he'd have probably deflected a lot more shots and would have walked away with it!!

I think we'll be keeping a clean sheet against Tottenham Hotsquirts for sure! But for Pepe to win the Golden Glove, I highly doubt it. Looking at what has happened (PFA awards), I don't see this one will be his!

You can't really compare the two though as the PFA awards are voted for by people and the Golden Gloves is just down to how many clean sheets the keeper has over the season.

Just down to the individual in question really.

At least it's one thing that can't be rigged in the Scum's favour ;)

Hmm...in that case maybe they'll for the consistency of clean sheets per game i guess where I see is VDS**t got lucky this time as he got some 8 clean sheets in a row I guess while as Reina doesn't have that much I think.

I personally can't see Van Der Sar playing on Sunday.

Leaves it open for Pepe to sneak in and at least grab one of the gloves. :D
