Hopefully he is not to far away because to be honest Darby is not the answer at right back while Johnson in injured.

I have to say I agree while Darby was solid he is very weak and against a strong left sided team he would be fudged as for Kelly on the other hand is strong and isn't afraid to put the foot in...

confirms what i was thinking all along he is star material, and seeing some of the regulars players not performing up to liverpools standards. he has shone when he played once for the first team. think like wenger rafa

Great game from him tonight. Id have no hassle leaving him there and pushing Johnson on or to left back.

Huge future ahead for this fells

If Kelly stays fit I think Glen will struggle to keep his position at RB. Well Done Martin on getting a great assist tonight.

Was the stand out player tonight. Could push Johnson to play even better, or move to the wing for us.

      Keep it up Kelly.

      Did not see the match.

Well in Martin  this would surely keep the Young rumours at bay then, knowing that we allready have a quality back up for Johnson.

Ye i agree he had a great game. Did you hear the commentator last night Brian? He had it in for Kelly, he wasn't impressed with him, he was doing my head in. I had to mute the volume after a while.

      Kelly handed England call
      5th Aug 2010 - Latest News

Liverpool youngster Martin Kelly has been named in Stuart Pearce's England Under-21 squad for the first time for next week's friendly with Uzbekistan.

Kelly, who impressed for the Reds during pre-season, is included in the 19 man party as Pearce runs the rule over his youngsters ahead of the forthcoming European Championship qualifiers against Portugal and Lithiania.

"Martin Kelly has played for Liverpool in this pre-season in a European qualifying tie and I also saw him with the younger age groups, so it's a great opportunity for him," said Pearce, who also handed first call-ups to Phil Jones, Jordan Henderson and Marc Albrighton.

"Because we were so successful a year ago reaching the European Championship Final, there was no preparation time for many friendlies before we went straight into qualifying, so it makes it difficult to have a look at players and tinker with the squad.

"This match will give us a chance to prepare for what will be two very important games next month."

Cracking game from Young Martin tonight, I can't believe the maturity he plays with very similar to Ayala in that respect and I think some one could end up having a fight on their hands at Right Back this season, if he continues his progression at the rate he is.

      I love this fella! :D

Seriously, a huge talent he is and I would have no worries if he was called up to any position in the back four to cover someone.  I'd even consider starting him left back, especially if Konchesky is being targeted.  Why the F**k would we need Paul Konfuckingchesky when we got Martin Kelly.

Well I'd probably pick Aurelio number one left back so Kelly would still get plenty of chances.  Insua can help the tea lady put out the biscuits, he looks like he enjoys a biscuit or three.

Brilliant game playing out of position. Not afraid of using his left peg one bit either. He's got a big future this lad. We most definitely don't need another RB. Johnson and Kelly is more than enough.
