Cheers HCS. Appreciate it. He came yesterday and said half a days work, and it'll cost £150. I'm happy with that. I've bought the shower today - 10.5 kw Creda. He's supplying the cable and breaker as you say he should! Seems quite decent and he's about 50 so hopefully should know what he's doing! Not getting fitted til the 24th November though!

EDIT: He said he'll sort my dodgy tap out while he's here too!

That's a very good deal there Gow. I work in the mines now so i only do plumbing work for friends and family. Trust me, that's a really good price for someone who has the overheads of running a business.

Advice needed! Just had a text off the fella who's supposed to be doing my shower saying 'I can't get a breaker to fit your consumer unit. I will have to fit an aux unit. This will increase the price by 70.'

Does this sound reasonable or like a rip-off if he's not doing it til a week Thursday?

A mixture of both Gow, 70 for a Auxillary unit and labour don't seem bad but surely he should have noticed that there wasn't room to fit a breaker in your existing unit when he quoted you for it in the first place !

That's a big add on for throwing a double mod enclosure on the side.
Surely he should have spotted that originally.
Giving himself an extra couple hours there for labour.
