      LIVE MATCH: Liverpool v Spurs
      May 24, 2009 03:07:45 pm
Sami Hyypia is among the substitutes as the Kop prepares to bid farewell to a legend this afternoon. You can listen to Liverpool v Spurs in full on our Match Day Live show from 3.30pm.
The big Finn is likely to come off the bench at some stage for what will be his last game for Liverpool before joining Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Arbeloa misses this end of season finale through injury.

The Reds XI in full is: Reina, Skrtel, Carragher, Agger, Aurelio, Alonso, Mascherano, Kuyt, Benayoun, Gerrard, Torres. Subs: Cavalieri, Degen, Ngog, Insua, Hyypia, Riera, Lucas.

Let him play the full game FFS Rafa.

I mean come on, this is a bit ridiculous.

Disappointed to see Sami only in the squad. Wanted him to start, but gives the Agger-Skrtel partnership a chance.

Very surprised Hyypia's not starting. Shame really because he does deserve to play the full game.

Nevertheless, still got a job to do, and it is a good team.

      3-0. Hyypia will score one.

I know its ridiculous but Rafa only wants a win and I bet he's thinking if he come off the bench second half he can be a real force... and he may get knackered if he played 90 minutes hasn't been injured?

I'm with you on this Res. A bit of common sense (and sensitivity) would have dictated that he'd play from the start and come off early to an ovation.

I guess Rafa won't be dictated to by anyone, eh?  :-\

Sami to come on in the 55th minute to a rapturous reception from the kop.  No Babel in the squad either.......

Still, it's a strong line up that will give Sami the perfect send off.

      4-0 to the reds.

Three centre backs? who's on the right, or is it 3 at the back.

It´s a pity that hyypia sits only on the bench but i hope that he´ll play and he´ll score.

Expected Sami not to start, let him come on in second half and get his standing ovatation, looks like Rafa going all out for the last game, how many changes will there be between this team and the one that kicks off next season
I dont think there will be many

      2 - 0

I'd say its carra on the right would've liked to have seen degen get a run out if hes fit.

Got to agree with you Eem.Although Sami is going of to Germany, and it would be a nice to give him a start.I think that Rafa doesn't want to pass up the chance of testing the Skrtel-Agger partnership.

      Could actually be a 3-2-4-1 line-up.

      Interesting.

Either Carra will be playing right back or Rafa might be experimenting with something on the last day.

I think Hyypia will probably come on with 30 mins left.

4-4-2 with Carra right side, although Carra's used to playing there, I no longer think he has the pace for wide right, but what do I know, he'll probable play a blinder, but as always, if we win does it matter who plays where. Final game so come on you Reds 4-0 today.....

With no Lennon in the Spurs line up, to worry about, a 3 - 4 - 3 formation could be a great call and (as i stated in an other thread) i expect a goal fest. 'Mon the Reds!

Very disappointed Sami is on the bench, would have been great to see him start and come off around the 88th minute to a standing ovation that he deserves.

Also i hope Skrtel isn't at right back because last time Agger, Carra and Skrtel played it was Skrtel at right back and he was torn apart.

Yeah it was against Newcastle, but I'm unsure of when it was. Think we came out 5-0 winners?

I was hoping to see Hyypia start the game as captain. Would've been a grand sending off and a deserved one aswell.
