      Ah it's alright, their fans will call for Pardew's head after they draw the Everton game. Given their good start their fans will be demanding the League title and any dropped points from here on in will see their manager(s) under pressure from the Geordie "faithful".

      Then get twatted left right and center to City and United before Chelsea beat them and Pardew finally gets sacked because he hasn't won in four. Their fans will then be out in force calling for Keegan again. Then you'll get one or two leading the charge for Shearer and the long shot bet being on Lee Clark given how the Geordies love their own. Before Ashley fucks it up entirely and hires another southerner in the form of Kenny Jackett.

      (while this post has more than it's fair share of sarcasm, I could actually seeing it happen)

      It's down to Pardew he is a good coach and a gentleman did a stellar job with West Ham given the resources.

      Without any confirmation, i would suggest spreading such rumours on a forum isn't the ideal thing to do.

      A lot more blatant than citehs naming by Etihad, is it legal? I thought the whole naming rights issue is tghe spending of that income. I'd imagine Ashley's only going to pay about £8m a year or so isn't he?

      Not very good compared to citehs £350m really?

      It wasn't St James Park was it?

      Wasn't it something like 'sportsdirect.com@St James Park'

      I reckon they'll keep it as Sports Direct Arena for the Olympics (not soft their owner) and then they'll try and shift it on a long term deal.

      I don't think there was any money involved. Apparently Ashley wants to test the naming idea and to show potential investors for a naming deal how it will go.

      He wants his £120M back that he has spent up there.  So if he can sell the name for 10 years for £100M then maybe he can walk away from them.

      Very interesting what Newcastle have done.

      Our owners stipulated that Anfield would never have its naming rights sold as it is.  Nearly all grounds that have had naming rights are newly built grounds.

      Most of us probably accept that a newly built ground or a major redevelopment of Anfield is likely to attract some form of naming rights.  But to just sell out on the history of a current ground seems a little bit .. tacky.

      I hope this doesn't give our owners any silly ideas to renege on what they have said.

      Good point. This could be his way out and with Newcastle sitting high in the table it could be an attractive time for potential naming partners for the stadium.

      Ashley has come out today and said that they are looking to benefit on the clubs recent form & the change of name is to let potential investors/naming right partners know that the naming rights for the stadium are up for grabs.

      Strange one to change the name to his company name, i thought the reason for naming rights and changing a stadium name was to get money in. Mike Ashley really don't help himself

      Yeah let's rely on Newcastle's re-named stadium affecting their league form so we can take advantage. You are kidding right? Or is that what its come to?

      Anyway, the only thing I like as much as a whinging Evertonian is a whinging Newcastle fan - its comedy gold.

      Rob Elliot from Charlton for a fee of €0.2m;
      Davide Santon Inter Milan for a fee of €5.7m;
      Gabriel Obertan Manchester United for a fee of €3.4m;
      Sylvain Marveaux free-Rennes;
      Demba Ba on a free -West Ham;
      Yohan Cabaye from Lille -fee of €5m;
      Mehdi Abeid free .

      That's only €14.3.
      With the position they are in at the league I think Mike Ashley or who ever doing all this for him is freaking Einstein in football bushiness.
