Anybody actually use vista

If so whats it like, im still happy with xp pro sp2/3

what is vista like, loaded it once or twice but no prolonged use.....is it any good peeps.

Thinking more of trying windows 7 when it comes out soon, some bad reports about vista.

Not for me I only up grade when I get a new computer. Windows 3.1 is fine for me.

windows 7 sounds great especially load it in 20 minutes, lots of compatibility with vista drivers, and most importantly xp emulator
touch screen compatibility is important, in a few years all new pcs will be touch screen.
I want a os that works with 3 screens though, why are we alwasy limited to 2,

looking forward to windows 7 now....sh*t I might even buy it.

oh and the bbc click program, best computer program on teh telly

I got Vista when I changed my laptop about 8 months ago.

Had a few issues, but it's not as bad IMO as it's made out to be.

I'm probably going to upgrade to Windows 7 when it's released, it looks pretty good.

Windows Vista, for me, is utter sh*te.  Windows XP is far better.  I hope Windows 7 is a little bit less sh*t.

I've also got it on both (desktop and laptop), I agree it's awful.

Why do they bother putting so much effort into trying to make it look prettier? Why can't they just focus on making it more efficient and reliable? :

I suppose they're going for the whole "family" thing, but I don't find it particularly user friendly or easy to use.

To sum up: it's w*nk.

Been using Vista for about a year and a half. Had no problems with it that I can remember, other than a few minor crashes that have been fixed by the OS in an instant.

It's not something I'm completely happy with, I mean I have 2GB of RAM and the OS itself eats away at the resources (one time I was using 98% of RAM by looking at the desktop alone).

Also, most old hardware devices won't work on it - it's almost like when the PS3 came out in a way; backwards compatibility wasn't really possible with PS2 games. Well with Vista, there's no patch to fix that as far as I know.

ive now got windows 7 up and running on a virtual machine, it is quite impressive, think im deffo gonna buy this, xp is too suseptable to crappy system faults when you load things it doesnt agree with, for instance explorer keeps crashing even though ive got up to date, norton virus checker.

I use Vista and I've had no problems at all with it.

I illegally pilage the internet regularly, use the internet for the forum, facebook, etc. Play music. Don't really touch PC games though so that may make a difference?

It's given me no trouble at all so I can't grumble.

i used vista for a while. it looks good. but is sh*t for gaming. the voice control was cool tho.

I also used Vista for a while. It's still installed on the other computer, but now I just use a mac.

I have vista, never had any problems. I don't play that many PC games though and the lad in the shop said that it was sh*t for games.
