£8 million? Hmmmmm, i'm in two minds about selling him myself as if we don't land Silva and sell Babel then that means we'll only really have Riera as a true out and out left winger.

But then again £8million is still £8million.

£8 million in the kitty + Babel leaving, for me that means Rafa has an eye on another attacking option.

If the rumours are true, of course!

Is it just me or does 8million seem a little skint? I mean i know he hasnt been great for us but id like at least 10mil if he does have this "potential" that he and everyone else seems to say. But, as long as we get Silva i wont be to worried. I was actually a huge fan of Babel after his bright start at the club, still remember that great goal against Derby and the backheel goal in the mauling of Bestiktas.. so it has been greatly dissapointing to watch him make zero progress this season. Any other player would have grown from the experience and feeling of scoring the winner against manure, but he hasnt and if he goes ill just think about what could have been and bid farewell.

2-3 years later, Ryan Babel will be an even better player.

He should not be sold. Because he too talented.

Judging by your username and avatar, you look like a Galatasary supporter? Don't you want Babel to go to you?

I think Babel would be a good player for us if Rafa played him more

He payed £11.5m for him and he doesn't even play him
Oh come on lad, you cant say he has'nt had chances. Im sick of explaining where hes gone wrong..

Clearly the Turkish league you dont have to do much moving then because usually when Kewell moves too much he goes down and is out for the season.

And anyone who says Kewell has played near on a full season and done well, then i am sorry but i just cannot take you seriously

Pretty much what i would feel would happen if we were to sell Babel he'd go to another club realize his potential possibly become a world beater leaving us with the feeling of the one that got away.

Not that i'm saying Kewell has become a world beater but he's playing more football and better football then he ever did for us over in Turkey for Galatasary

Apart from Fener and Besiktas, there isn't that much competition in that league though is it. So it's hardly surprising sicknote is doing well over there!

True but sometimes players just need a change of scenery to find themselves again and I am sure that has happened with Kewell in his day was a Class act for Leeds and you don't lose Class its permanent.

In the same breath by Loaning Babel out to say a club like Newcastle where he would get a game week in and week out he would get that change of scenery maybe his confidence would go up and he would return to us a better player ?

I can understand people wanting to loan out Babel but I don't agree. We are all agreed that he has immense talent but the wrong attitude. Well I think loanng him isn't going to sort that out. He has enough talent to challenge Kuyt and Riera for a place on the wings, so make him stay and fight. If he sorts his head out and plays for Liverpool and not for Ryan Babel he can be a great player.
