Key term there is "on paper". I am very far from convinced about Lukaku, Matic has been on a steady decline the last few years, although perhaps he was just pining for Maureen and more negative tactics.
The less said about Lindelof the better.

Me too re Lukaku like I've already said. Lindelof off to bad start but till he plays in Premiership I'll hold judgement back.

Simple true is if you don't buy them at the over inflated prices you have little chance of winning the league, hence the fact you've not won it for a long time

Well we've already won the highly prestigious "Premier League Asia Trophy" so we are off to a good start ;-)

Even the most biased of fans ( apart from you ) will say Fergie impossible to follow as in his time he was best manager in the world. The transitional period in  the last 5 years has been testing without a Premiership but least it hasn't reached 27 yet 

Since Fegie left we have only won FA Cup, League Cup, Charity Shield & Europa Cup. That's not too bad even though not really good enough. Our last two managers obviously not good enough for many reasons that would take to long to address.

So simple truth to your question is  not good enough. That should/hopefully change under Mourinho as he's got what the last two managers didn't have!
