Until the leadership at United are honest with themselves about who they are (a mid-table team at best) they are going to keep bumping their heads against the wall time and time again. They think they can fix the problems by throwing more money at players, but they don't have an identity. Klopp gave us an identity and rebuilt us. Now Arne can tweak what was there and continue forward. Teams don't look at United and worry about the fixture anymore like they did 10 years ago even. I would argue they are actually still on their slow decline with no signs of an upward turn anytime soon with the current owners.
I know Ratcliffe and his team have taken over a lot of the day to day management of the club but the Glazers are still the majority owners and are parasites, draining the club's money and soul.
The Glazers lack of morals trickles down through the rest of the club. A lot of players appear to have no fight or pride and that appears to be a pervasive culture that is just getting worse over time.
It's true that football fans should expect players (on phenomenal wages) to give 100% every match, but the United players don't appear to care about the club.
ETH's inability to provide a style of play is just making it worse.
