You will utterly despise Europa League group matches. They are utter tripe. The worst of the worst. Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t. A competition you can really only start caring about when competing in the quarters and semis in April/May.

Still cause for celebration tho' when the trophy goes in the cabinet, if I remember rightly doesn't winning the Europa qualify for the Champions League trophy? About the only chance the mancs are gonna get in the near future haha.

Yes it does and being honest it's the only way either of our sides are going to get there.  :-\

Absolutely but the matches in the group stages and early knockout rounds are often so lacking in quality that it only serves to expose the gulf between it and the Champions League further. Seeing as we've negotiated the group stages and have next to no hope of getting CL football by getting in the top 4 then it does matter a lot.

Would be even better if we didn't qualify for the Europa Leagues as well. it just gets in the way of the premier league due to too many games being played in a Competition that in truth none of us fans particular like anyway.  :-\

So what. When it's a straight choice between the UEFA Cup or nothing in midweek, I will take the UEFA Cup every time.

Atm, you're not good enough to play the other competition, so you'll play the UEFA Cup until you are, whether you like it or not. Ignoring the qualifiers, you play two more games than the other competition. Two more games is not two too many.

I know where not good enough but given the choice..( and it's just a opinion ).. I would still rather not play in the competition. it basically fucks up our domestic league. Like Frankly Mr Shankly says would only take note if we reach q/f or semi/f stages  ;D

I have a problem with your manager :P I like him too  ;D I should hate him but just can't. He's got  the passion you fans want in a manager. Thought  the celebration against Norwich was over the top though.  ;D  He has a contagious smile you just can't help liking  :) I do rate him as one of the top 5 managers in the world, a long with the chosen one  :lmao:

Couldn't agree more with your comments regarding our manager front. We really don't know which way to turn at present.  ??? With very limited choice about at present we have no alternative but to get Mourinho. However, personally I love him and always had him down as my No1 choice. Can we keep him for more that 2/3 years? That I'm afraid is the $64,000 question.  :-\

Really hurting Spurs league campaign this year, isn't it?

You take note at all stages. The group phase you look to win the group, shore up your coefficient points, and get a comfortable second round draw. The knockout phase is where it's won or lost.

Nicky Butt has been appointed head of academy at Man Utd.

Nope...no one cares a jot about this. Thought not.

Well it's big enough for BBC Sport to think it merits a headline close to the top of it's webpage. Something quite sad about the BBC Sports relentless obsession with Man Utd. Come to think of it, seeing as both are fast declining institutions, they're both perfect for each other!

They're hilarious with this class of '92 bollocks. What credentials could he possibly have that meets that of a "Head of Academy"? Giggs looked like an amateur as caretaker manager a few seasons ago, the Nevilles looking like amateurs at Valencia, Scholes being a miserable f**ker on TV and now it's Butt's turn to look like an amateur.

remember their goalie making a few really good saves so actually 2-1 flattered them. If we only we had been having a better season it would have made their fall even more enjoyable than it is.

      Rooney to China?

He'd still not be the tallest man on the pitch....
