We rested almost our entire first team for PL games before some of the EL games.
Your statement suggests, if it had been Chelsea we would have put out a strong side?
Sensible managers rest players before bigger games. It its not a new thing, the Chelsea game will be nothing more than bragging rights soon.
We rested players last year which we shouldn't have, which cost us valuable points and then European football altogether. It was a reckless gamble and as usual, it didn't work.
Resting players saw us eliminated from 2 cups this year, endure a replay in Plymouth, and our title challenge end. If you were in the title race now and the European Cup, you wouldn't rest anyone. We don't pay players 100k a year to put their feet up, get out there and put your body on the line for this club or go fn home. Plenty of time for rest when the season is over.
But if you insist on resting players, resting them at West Brom is one thing, resting them in one of your biggest home games of the season is another.
Suppose the mancs took your advice and lost both their games this week, what then?
