      Susan Boyle rushed to clinic
      Jun 01, 2009 01:39:10 pm
Susan Boyle has reportedly been rushed to the Priory following her shock defeat in the Britain's Got Talent final.

The Scottish star was taken on Sunday night to the private clinic after show staff contacted police to say she was acting strangely at her London hotel.

Officers were called to assist and Susan was reportedly taken by ambulance to the Priory in Southgate, north London, escorted by police.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "Police were called to doctors assessing a woman under the Mental Health Act. The woman was taken voluntarily by ambulance to a clinic. At the request of doctors, police accompanied the ambulance."

Earlier on Sunday it emerged Susan was taking time off on the advice of a doctor after losing to dance act Diversity in the ITV talent show.

Television company talkbackThames released a statement offering her "ongoing support" amid newspaper reports that she had run amok backstage after her loss shouting "I hate this show".

Show winners Diversity expressed sympathy for her situation.

"I feel for her because she had a lot of hype around her and she didn't ask for it," Ashley Banjo, the group's leader and choreographer, told ITV's This Morning.

"We're a group and we're a very close group, so we've got each other, whereas Susan and the other solo acts are kind of there on their own in the limelight."

Fred O'Neil, Susan's friend and former voice coach, told BBC Breakfast: "It's such a tragic situation... I just hope that whatever fame that she has got out of this will eventually bring her some happiness. Obviously at the present time it is not."

I'm sure the whole experience has been very stressfull but she did strike me as a bit of an oddjob.

Anyway. Hope she gets better, although I reckon her 'better' isn't the same as ours.

Yeah I think she is naturally a very strange woman but this media attention certainly must have played a huge part.

Ah she'll be ok, she's living it up in the priory for the next few days and then she'll be back to her normal strange self. She always did come across as a bit of a nut job though... but anyways hope she gets better soon. :)

Depends on what your idea of strange is?

There's freaks like Jordan and other such non-entity tw*ts out there who should be harrassed and slagged off before this Susan Boyle.

And that Amanda Holden is still a bad slag. What's with all the fawning?

She's just a bit of an oddball really. Never been quite 100% if you ask me, maybe the hype pushed her over the edge.

On a lighter note, that guys second name is Banjo

She's an unknown turned into a world sensation overnight and certainly all this hype must be getting to her. Its stressful with all the expectations especially when its the first time and you're thrusted into media limelight, so yeah.

Couldn't agree more! I was thinking the same thing today when I heard this on the radio.

That Susan Boyle has had fame thrust upon her so fast it's no wonder the poor girl is worn out. No-marks like Jorden crave fame and for what talent do they get it for? F**k all!

I'm sure the past seven weeks have been a bit crazy for her. Her lack of integration when it comes to others certainly doesn't help when you're lashed on the telly. She hadn't really much idea of what was 'the norm.'

      Get well soon though.

She's not the full shillin to be honest and not equipped to handle all the hype and wind ups that goes with the territory and the effin parasites are prepared to subject the unfortunate woman to a nationwide tour with the circus I know it was her (mis)choice but anyone can see she's not superstar material.

Didn't really watch BGT but when i did see it and she was performing, after every performance when Ant and Dec were talking to her she would be acting really weird IMO, and some of the things she would come out with was just odd.

Seems like she is a few cookies short of a full pack.

But yeah, get well soon though.
