  Liverpool have announced the signing of Paraguayan defender Ronald Huth. 
The 17-year-old has penned a two and a half year deal after agreeing to leave Tacuary FC in his homeland for a new career on Merseyside.
 
Despite being born in Paraguay, Huth holds an Italian passport.
 
He completed his move to Anfield ahead of Wednesday night's transfer deadline.

There was disappointment for Ronald Huth as Paraguay lost 4-2 to Uruguay in their second game in the the South America U20 Championships in Venezuela.
Huth played the full 90 minutes and Paraguay actually took the lead before Uruguay stormed back to score four times in the second half.
 
Paraguay are next in action on Wednesday night when they take on Chile.

Is he good? I never saw him play. Will be a one for the future or is he a kid that in 2 years he will be sold out?

He's not bad, has a physical side to him. If you want to see him play mate you should go to this site when the reserves play.

Likes to get stuck in seen him play for the reserves a good prospect for future and I'm sure the club will bring him along at the clubs pace.

Defender Ronald Huth became the first Paraguayan to sign for Liverpool in January 2007.

The centre-back, who also holds an Italian passport, penned a two-and-a-half-year contract after moving from Tacuary FC.

"As a lad growing up in Paraguay I was very aware of all the trophies this club had won," says Huth. "I knew they were one of the biggest clubs in the world, and what I've seen since I came here has just reiterated that to me.

"I feel like I have progressed as a player here at Liverpool and learned a lot from Gary Ablett and his staff."

Huth has yet to make his senior competitive debut but blossomed as the second string clinched the FA Premier Reserve League title in 2007-08.
