      Final Fantasy VII
      Jun 08, 2009 08:43:18 pm
On the PSN network to download.

It's a sheer throw back to the best of the PS One games but my word this could still have a decent bash at best game ever made.

Did anyone else buy this? If not, it's worth buying just to throw on your PSP.

LOVING THIS GAME CLOUD IS A LEGEND

On Crisis Core Cloud got beaten by an old man :D He's such a wimp there, but in FF7 he beat Sephiroth, so he's cool there ;)
And on Crisis Core Zack (Crisis Core main character) beated a bunch of bad guys with an umbrella, so he's a legend too :D

Just on the off chance, does it go into more detail about Zack's origins on Crisis Core? You get a decent overview on FF7 but I fancy getting a bit more.

Have to buy that soon. Said I'd get it when it came out.

I'm just past the Midgar Zolom, about to go into the caves.

I must admit, I do think it is one of the best games. Alongside the Metal Gear series.

I don't know how much info you get about Zack and his past in FF7, but in Crisis Core everything is about Zack.

I'm not far off that. I'm close to Junon, kicking arse on the way, about level 16.

I'm officially writing off my evenings because of this game, it's too good.

ahhh awesome... level 16, same here but I trained up at this point in the wooded area... also got Yuffie as a playable character here. I left when everyone was level 18 and the next boss the flying monster underneath junon was well easy to beat... what a game!

In a simple equation, Final Fantasy summed up.

      7 > 9 > 8

      ;)

12 was good too but I need to set my PS2 up to play it and cannot be arsed. Plus, 7's better.

To be honest I never played 9! is it worth playing?

I'm heading to the gold saucer now, one of my fave bits of the game! just training up Tifa and Yuffie now, cos I have well ignored them haha.

I enjoyed 12 but I HATE the fact that it wasn't random battles believe it or not... and some bits were just mazes of caves like OLD rpg's, like in FFVII it was like a story goring through world places, but 12 had to much "move around the labrynth to get to the end" BORING.

      FFVII > FFVII > FFX > FFXII

      New FF looks good though,

Oh and is there a different way to level up, not just fighting monsters that appear? Because in Crisis Core you can do random missions like kill this and that and level up that way.

It is the best game I've ever played... its not even a game, its the experience

Its a Role Playing Game, lots of narrative... but its the best story ever.

I'd recommend using a game guide if your a first timer, their is so much you can miss if you don't play it properly... magics to find, summons to find.

      but it IS the best

I have got to Cosmo Canyon and ready to go beat that boss who's made of fire? can't remember his name, but he was a hard one, until a found that because he's dead already, you can kill him with cure and life magic... Pheonix Down does him in one I hear.

      yay

but because this boss is dead, a demon, they work opposite to curing on it. So if you cure this boss he takes damage ;D strange but true.

It'd be ideal for the PSP in all honesty.

My memory card isn't big enough for it though so PS3 only for me for the time being.

You're quicker than me. :D I've been a little busy of late though.

Just at the Gold Saucer, recently been dumped into prison. :D I'm around level 20 on the whole so I need to hang around bullying things to level up.

I'm going through it trying to remind myself of all the little side missions and secrets along the way. No doubt I'll have to start it again once I hit that point, much to the other half's delight. ::) ;)

I actually would hate if they would make a remake only on PS3. Everyone should deserve to play it, so they should make it on more consoles.

And good luck playing Crisis Core :) And I would suggest for you to do some side missions till you're at least lvl 10, because some of the bosses a F***ing hard! And the only way to get cool items is to do side mission. You need at least 40 hours to complete the side missions, and let's don't forget the main storyline :)

I remember a good spot to level up being the sunken Shinra plane, if you are able to get to it yet.

The enemies are tough, but give you plenty of experience, provided you're strong enough to beat them! ;)

Nice one mate. I'm still waiting for it to get delivered like but I'll enjoy it when it gets here. ;)

I've never played any final fantasy games what are they about?

They're all different stories. Different planets, worlds, creatures, etc.

Really hard to explain. I've played a few of them but Final Fantasy VII is the best (and most succesful funny enough!)

Each one has a different combat system, different magic system, etc. Once again, VII had the best IMO.

They're not for everyone though. I have a few mates who just can't be arsed with the length of the games but if you like getting your teeth into a game long term then it's definitely worth a look.

I remember a good spot to level up being the sunken Shinra plane, if you are able to get to it yet.

The enemies are tough, but give you plenty of experience, provided you're strong enough to beat them! ;)

      Mad in that plane.

Quite late on in the game that, once you have access to the submarine.

The Marlboros in there were absolute bas**rds.

On Crisis Core they're soooo annoying.

And after playing Crisis Core, you'll notice that FF7 story is fu**ed up. You'll see what I mean when you'll play Crisis core ;) And that would mean that Square Enix just needs to make FF7 remake!

And good thing that I still have my PS2, that means that I can play Dirge of Cerberus:FF7 with Vincent!

I had that but never really got into it.

Crisis Core was the only FFVII spin off that had anything to directly with the main storyline, which is why I need to get my teeth into it! :D

Just an update... been playing this for a while now.

Ok I'm up to the bit were Cloud is back with the crew after losing his mind, he's better now and have just got the submarine... Next step I think is Large materia in rocket town.

Been training loads... level 65 Cloud, others around 61...
Limits Break, Cloud - Omnishlash! took me ages on battle square to get. Barrett level 4 as well... others nearly 3.
Got Tifa's, Cid's, Vincents ultimate weapons...
Bred a Gold chocobo (after a long time of breeding) so now I have special materia's Knights of the Round, Mime, hp <-> mp, Quadra Magic. Apocalypse Sword (Cloud).
Also mastered all my magic materia's (with help from Rune armlet)

So I'm doing pretty well, going to train on the Gelnika and get in 90's then defeat the weapons, I'll try and post a video when its done...

      I'M OWNING THIS BEAUTIFUL GAME

      How everyones progress

Just reading that post brings back the absolute joy of this game. :D

I'm on a go slow as far as I usually go on it.

Just got to Nibelheim for the first time. My materia's levelling up unusually quickly compared to when I used to play it. Getting into more fights methinks. ;)

My progress on Crisis Core is much better though. Just gone down the cave in Banora where Genesis has been sitting off. I'm not sure whether it's the end of the game but it definitely reminds me of the end of FF7 (cave, you can't come back out, etc.) I'll keep you posted on the progress of that. ;)

I haven't really done many of the missions as I've just wanted to crack on with the main story (which is amazing, and ties a lot of things in) There's definite replay value in the missions though. I feel like I've completed a fair few, but the mission progress reads just 6%. :o

Quite a sad game when I think of how it's overlapping into the main FF7. But it makes me much happier than Advent Children (the reasonably poor film set after the main FF7). Might have to watch it again and see if it's as poor as I remember.

      It appears so my friend.

Finished Crisis Core last night. What a beautiful game. I've heard some say it's not upto much but the storyline is a must for any proper Final Fantasy fans. So so good.

Little sad at the end too.

I HAVE JUST COMPLETED FFVII, and when I say completed I mean 100%

I even beat Emerald and Ruby weapon... in such an easy way, just Cloud, others dead, and did W-summon with knights of round linked with HP Absorb, he couldn't even hurt me in time, after 10 minutes Emerald was dead!!!! whoohoo Ruby was easier, but W-summoned Hades to paralyse and the knights of round, then mimed them constantly!

Can't believe I beat Weapons... finished game with Cloud Level 90, the rest not far behind... got all Ultimate weapons and level 4 limits! Ohhhh yeahhhh!

The finished the actually game, after beating Weapons Sephroth with PISS easy, to 4x Cut from Cloud each 9999hp, and one limit 4 Barrette move, DEAD...

BYE FFVII until I start you up again in two years (ritual)

Anyone wants tips, advice on anythin let me know. Breeding Chocobo's? Secret items, HOW to kill weapons? let me know!

Mate, you sound like me 10 years ago, I spent a lot of time at university playing FFVII! :D

Was chuffed to bits when I killed of those two Weapons you mentioned, that combo on Ruby Weapon was the only way to finish it off I think. I went running off down the corridor when I nailed it, screaming! :lmao:

Digging up this thread. Why because FFVII 2011 replay has began! haha

only this time I've persuaded my Girlfriend to try it out! Surprisingly she's loving it haha. She is up to Don's mansion in midgar. I've had to give her tips and that but she's done it on her own. Me is proud.

BTW, is it wrong that I'm making my girlfriend play FFVII? haha, I feel guilty but I want her to share my experiences on it.

Yeah 13-2, I'm actually not a big fan of 13. Seemed to take a different, more linear approach... I was just running forward through levels for most of it, which is a shame. Still though will probs end up buying 13-2 ;) haha

And yes Ayrton, it is indeed a classic! :)

Not in FF7's class, but it's very good, with a decent story, even if it is, like most RPG's, a bit familar/formulaic.
