These international breaks seem to come up far too often.

He's the only English Manager to win a football tournament in the last decade or so?

He won the Toulon tournament with the under-21's. They seem to forget him failing to get England through the group stages of the Euro's under his tenure though. We finished bottom of the group in both competitions (2013 & 2015). We came 4th in 2014 & 2015 in the Toulon tournament too.

Southgate is the obvious choice for England.

A boring middle of the road manager for a boring middle of the road team. Now the national team can coast into another 2 tournaments being mediocre, fail to make it past the quarters until he is eventually sacked and replaced by Tony Pulis or Neil Warnock.

I am not expecting a trophy, but quarter finals at major cup is fine. I am not sure how it is a sidestep. A manager is better than no manager. Who could we have had that was better? I am not sure appointing a better manager that is English would be easy. It is quite clear FA would like an English manager for the job.

Reaching quarter finals and avoiding trophies is all England has done for years and you're expecting more of the same?

That is the definition of a sidestep.

Yep how I see it as well.

Expect the same players that have done F**k all to deserve being in the team to continue.

Squad for qualifier against Scotland, friendly against France. Southgate has picked four keepers!

Hahahaha Keith probably one of the only things footy-wise we do agree on! Southgate seems to be the complete polar opposite to Alladyce and what the FA want. Still would of give Harry Redknapp a shot if I was honest.
