the last two managers to have any natural love and understanding of Football were Veneables and Hoddle who the FA got shut of for various reasons.
Sad to say the last time I enjoyed England games was 1998 before then Taylor was awful but Italia 90 was a really good tournament with a creative team England have a problem with creative players and always have done.

TAA left out of the match day squad - happy days, they don’t deserve him.

Nothing to play for, so maybe trying other players out?

He was in full blown Hodgson mode on Friday night claiming that the performance against Italy was a 'move in the right direction' after their loss to Hungary. I mean any 4-0 loss against Hungary would be right???

I would absolutely love it if Iran pulled off a result of some kind against them when it kicks off in November.

Considering my dad is Persian (mum Scottish and I was born / raised in London), I would love Iran to do well.

If he was trying out other players, Trent would of played. Like most losers who manage the national team, he'll go with a similar team to Friday.

TAA getting hammered by the cu*ts in Twitter land, saying he can’t defend.

Yes he makes the odd mistake like anyone else (this season has been a poor start).

But you don’t win everything at 23 with a team that has one of the best defensive and offensive records around.

People are so F***ing thick and love putting the knife in.

      F***ing pisses me off.

Come home TAA, keep your head down and have a F***ing smashing season - we love you!

Almost 20 years ago, I used to always play with Iran on Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (or was it 5?). Don't ask me why, I couldn't tell you. I've had a soft spot for their national team ever since.
I guess playing against England means I'll have one more reason to cheer for them this winter (btw, it feels strange to say winter for a WC).

that reminds me of a song about being mixed up father being Orange and Mother being green. I would hope most decent people like us on here would differentiate between state and individuals . I love seeing a "minoe" footballing Country doing well in the World Cup it is what makes the WC bearable

Pro Evo 3, 4 and 5 were the absolute peak of football gaming. Sports gaming in general...actually just some of the greatest games ever. If only games were that great again!

USA v Iran will be a good game. Especially as they have only played once before in the world Cup in France 98. There is a very good documentary around the game. I think it may have been one of those ESPN 30 for 30 films.

how come 38 mins feels like 98 mins. Our wing backs couldnt cross a ball if they had all day to do it. This team have the creativity of Sam Allerdyce Bolton team and how long before the GK gifts Germany a goal
