That 6th goal was the very definition of comedy defending. Reminded of that goal we conceded in the 4-4 against everton!

Commentator just said their keeper made "Good saves and decent catches"....

Didn't he parry every shot and have the ball go through his legs a couple of times as well as being utter sh*te

Park the bus and still lose by six, or have a go and lose by ten? Andorra are dire. Id rather lose 10-0 and have some dignity.

      VS

      Full Time: England 6-0 Andorra
      W Rooney (4, 39)
      F Lampard (29)
      J Defoe (73, 76)
      P Crouch (81)

      Report:
Overall a satisfying performance from the lads. I think we passed the ball around at a good tempo from the off and Andorra couldn't deal with it. Glen Johnson proved to be a key provider for goals setting up Wayne Rooney and Jermaine Defoe. Concluding in three assists. Wayne Rooney scored for England within 5minutes with a header from a Glen Johnson cross from the right. The second goal came when Theo Walcott cut the ball back for Frank Lampard to direct the ball in the bottom right corner. Rooney then made it three when he volleyed a cross from Glen Johnson into the back of the net. Gerrard and Rooney were substituted at halftime and J.Defoe and A.Young came onto the field. England were enjoying themselves and Beckham was spreading the ball from CM to the flanks for fun. A.Cole was replaced by W.Bridge before 73minutes into the game yet another cross from Johnson had an end result as Defoe was there to head it in the net. Two minutes later David Beckham took a freekick and Defoe was there to tap home the rebound. Crouch took advantage of some comedy defending to walk the ball in the net 10minutes from time. Robert Green wasn't to make a save all night.

      Well played lads.

A BIG Positive Point To Take From The Game
      - Although Gerrard never scored he escaped without injury.  ;D

      Just seen this:

While 58,000 England fans defied the tube strike and made it to Wembley for last night's game with Andorra, the visitors could not boast a single away supporter in the stadium, unless you count the 11 mascots from the principality. (Daily Mail)

      Haha, I didn't realise that!

I watched England for the first time in a while last night and they looked pretty good.  I know it's Andorra, but you can't win 7 games in a row and be useless.  Johnson looked very good and although Beckham may be to slow for top class teams, his right foot has the touch of an angel, even after all these years. i think his boot must put some sort of radar onto the ball and the player it's aimed at.

as for Walcott, he just fustrated me.  kept running down the right channel into knowhere.  when will he learn to look up and play the right pass.

Completely agree mate although I do think, if Beckham is not going to be used in the WC next summer, we should be using other players. Walcott frustrates me too, I think it's time perhaps for someone like Lennon to step in.

      Yes, Croatia at home.

Assuming Carsson isn't in goal, I'd bet on a 3-0 win for us.

      Kaka wary of England

Brazil star Kaka believes England are shaping up to be one of his country's main rivals at next summer's World Cup finals.

The South Americans have shown ominous form in progressing to the final of the Confederations Cup, where they will face the USA in Johannesburg.

Along with European champions Spain, Brazil look sure to go into next year's tournament as favourites, but the Real Madrid playmaker believes they are not the only ones capable of taking the crown.

And after seven wins in seven qualifying matches, he has has cited Fabio Capello's rejuvenated England as a major threat.

"First we have to see who gets there because, for instance, Portugal are struggling to qualify," he told the Daily Star.

"But I can say the most important national teams at the moment are Spain, Argentina, Italy, France and England."

Kaka added: "I think England are playing very well under Capello.

"England have a very, very good group of players.

"Of course we know now in football that just talent is not enough. But I think England can have a very good World Cup."

F**k the World Cup, other more important things to be worrying about.

19th League Championship & 6th European Cup for starters.

I wonder whether Kaka ever felt comfy in Didi's back pocket?

Haha you really are anti the England side aren't you!

Obviously I'd prefer a 19th League title or a 6th European cup but at the same time experiencing a WC triumph would be glorious.

      Capello plans Austria camp

Fabio Capello is considering putting his England players through a week-long training camp in Austria to acclimatise to conditions in South Africa.

England need just three points from their remaining three games to seal their place in next summer's World Cup as they currently top Group Six.

Capello was in South Africa for the Confederations Cup last month searching out a possible training base ahead of the tournament.

England - providing they qualify from their group - will find out their first phase opponents in December and the Italian coach is concerned about the high altitude his side could confront in games around the Johannesburg area - where the final is being played.

"We are looking at the prospect of going to Austria ahead of the next World Cup before coming to South Africa a week before the tournament begins," he told Fifa.com.

      No jet-lag problems

"We won't have any problems with jet lag and in terms of getting used to the climate here, a week will be enough.

"I came to South Africa because we hope that we'll be back next year and we're looking to find a place that we'll use.

"We're looking for a place at altitude, plus the standard of the pitches and the hotel in mind. They're the three things that are the most important to us."

Time to bump this I think alongside the match threads.

It's getting quite interesting now how the amount of options available are rising. That can only be a good thing.

I would say the back four is pretty much sorted but competition for midfield and forward places is quite strong.

I hope we get our main 11 before the WC though - particularly the keeper.

I'd say we are one of the favourites for the WC, but I hope we go in as underdogs. Less pressure that way.

Robinson was on fire towards the end of last season - when he hits form, he's a brilliant 'keeper. I think him and Green should battle it out for the #1 jersey.

I just wish though we had an absolute world class keeper. I've noticed lately whoever's been called upon is making silly errors like Green yesterday, probably nervs. I mean to cement your place as #1 goalkeeper for England in the WC would be quite something for them.

Not sure about the striking partnership just yet either, but what I do know is that it's time for Heskey to be dropped. I'd much rather Cole played if Capello likes to have a big man up top, he's turned into an absolute quality player over the past few seasons. If not then on current form it has to be Defoe really, everything he hits seems to be going in at the moment.

I also think we've got to stick with one out of Lennon, Wright-Phillips, Young on the wings as we could do with the pace.

Ideally, we should have Rooney with Gerrard behind him up top. Unfortunately Rooney's best position is just behind the striker but it's still very encouraging to see their link up play - they seem to have a natural understanding of each other.

I want to stay as underdog's going into the competition too, not only does it keep the pressure lower, but it makes victory that bit more special. I can't wait for the WC, I really think we have a great chance.

      England face TV blackout

England fans might only be able to see Fabio Capello's side clinch World Cup qualification on the internet.

While the Three Lions will book their place at South Africa 2010 by beating Croatia at Wembley on Wednesday night, if they fail to overcome Slaven Bilic's men - and the Ukraine defeat Belarus on the same night, the next chance they will get is in Dnepropetrovsk on October 10.

TV rights for the encounter against the Ukraine were sold to Setanta by international football agency Kentaro.

However, the collapse of the pay-TV operator earlier this year led Kentaro to go back into the market for an alternative.

But with ITV, Sky and Channel Five showing no interest in showing the game, and tentative discussions with the BBC getting nowhere, it currently looks as though there will be a TV blackout of the game entirely.

Instead, Philipp Grothe, chief executive of the Kentaro Group, has now instructed digital sport specialist Perform, to market and stream the match online, on a pay-per-view basis.

"We have spoken to every traditional UK broadcaster and currently have no offer on the table," said Grothe.

"We therefore feel the internet is the most viable option to deliver an important England game directly to the fans.

"It will be the first time in history that an England game has had an exclusive web broadcast."

The FA are bound to be uncomfortable with the situation, even though Perform did provide coverage of UEFA Cup matches involving Manchester City and Tottenham last year.

Having an important England qualifier available purely on the internet is a different matter entirely, not least because such a large number of supporters have no method of accessing such a medium.

However, as the "away" team, the FA are powerless to do anything to prevent it and must cross their fingers that some kind of agreement is reached over the next month.

ITV have the rights to home England games and under the terms of their contract have taken over Setanta's broadcast rights for away friendlies, such as the one in Holland last month.

That aspect of the deal does not cover qualifying games and as ITV are trying to operate in a depressed advertising market have not felt in a position to make a bid.

Bilic: I have found England flaw

Slaven Bilic believes he has found a chink in England's armour declaring the Three Lions have lost some of their 'Englishness' under Fabio Capello.

Bilic takes his Croatia side to Wembley on Wednesday looking to upset the party for the second time in just under two years.

Who can forget the night in November 2007 when the Croats defeated England 3-2 at Wembley in the driving rain costing the Three Lions their place at Euro 2008 and Steve McLaren his job.

However, the tables have been turned. England, under Capello, know a positive result in midweek will see them book their place at next summer's World Cup with two group games to spare while Croatia are the ones chasing down second spot.

But Bilic insists his side can spring another surprise especially after he declared England had lost the spark that made them difficult to play against in the past.

"They are a very different team," he told the Daily Mail.

"They are missing the Englishness, some of the things that have always made England teams difficult to defend against and play against.

      Missing something

"All I will say is that they are definitely missing something and we know what it is. But of course I'm not going to tell you now what it is. It's our secret."

A 4-1 win in Zagreb a year ago helped England banish memories of that dismal night at Wembley and Bilic is in agreement that the 3-2 win two years ago will have no bearing on Wednesday nights result.

"The scar for them is there but unfortunately I can't count on that," he added.

"English players do not give in and give up. Yes it was a big blow for them. But you all got over it two weeks later when you had Manchester United and Chelsea playing each other.

"No I don't think there is a fear factor of Croatia. We did not beat them 10 times in a row. But having said that, we are the only team in the world to have done it twice.

"We did it one after the other and that's important."

      Go the Croats!

I really want a sneaky 1-0 win nothing would be sweeter than if it was from an Eduardo dive and penalty.

That would get under your skins.
