£80 Million for Gerrard, would you take it?

Considering the season is over and there isnt too much football to talk about. I thought I'd throw in a controversial question to see what the peoples view are on this.

Would any of you consider selling Steven Gerrard for 80 million pounds?

Personally I'd rate Gerrard as more expensive but people will tell thats bias.

Anyway considering our finacial situation and the fact that Gerrard is nearing 30 years of age I thought this would be a thought provoking dilema somewhat.

Whatever money you can throw in that maybe reasonable to sell our stars I may think twice, but these two Gerrard and Carragher, are the ones that I will never sell. Gerrard and Carra are born and bred here, they are the stars which make Liverpool what we are today. They are the emblem and symbol of the club, soul of the club. Their passion to play for us will never be matched elsewhere, maybe including their country (which may play a part in Carra's early retirement).

And I'm going to put it quite simply, you take either Gerrard or Carra out, a part of our history, our club is lost.

If you told me 80 million pounds for Torres, I will take it. But for Gerrard and Carra? They are here to stay.

No. For 2 reasons:
1) If It were made public, everyone would know how much money we had and we wouldn't be able to get as many quality players for the money
2) Stevie is irreplacable.

If he didn't want to play for us and if £80m was the most we could get - yes.

Otherwise - no.

You say he's nearly 30, and yes that is true, but I genuinely think he's got another 3 or 4 years left in his prime. After that he'll probably be a little slower, more of a Xabi Alonso type player. Anyway to answer the question, no.

Money is MOney it cam easily be prdoduced in some way or the other but Steven is irreplaceable and in the words of our Nando

Sorry but I've got to disagree with that. Every player has his price.

However, I'd reject £80 million. The world's most complete player is worth a hell of a lot more than that.

He is 29 now, and I still think he's got 3-4 years of his best football to come so £80 million is ridiculous.

He is worth the club. 350m, take it or leave it. Go figure.

Got to agree Brian the comparison with the prima donna's price of 80m well stands up but the obvious question is would our man want to go to any other club? thats his true value you can't buy loyalty.

When comparing Ronaldo and Gerrard, it's different. Sure Ronaldo, was an o.k player but in regards to Steven Gerrard:
1) He is one of the best players in the word
2) He is scouse and loves the club.

This combination is entirely unique and could never be replaced, not even with 80 million pounds.

so, in short - NO!
