No mate, they're expensive here too (as are most things).

I haven't been to a major festival since 2006 because of the expence.

Of course if you're into less mainstream stuff, you can find some real bargains. This is a one day festival I went to in April in Nottingham. I'm sure there's plenty of bands that you won't have heard of but check out this list for £15 :

Monster Energy Stage (Rock City Main Stage)

      Underoath

      The Blackout

      We Are The Ocean

      Deaf Havana

      Exit Ten

      Hyro Da Hero

      Summerlin

      Tomorrow Brings Giants

      We Are Fiction

Big Deal Clothing Stage (Rock City Basement)

      Young Guns

      My Passion

      The Swellers

      LightGoBlue

      Save Your Breath

      Atlas & I

      Rio

      Kiss Corona

      Evarose

      Atticus Stage (Rescue Rooms)

      Cancer Bats

      Comeback Kid

      The Ghost Inside

      Kvelertak

      Gravemaker

      Social Suicide

      Feed The Rhino

      Hospitals

      Galleons

      The Brave Clothing Stage (stealth)

      Sylosis

      Devil Sold His Soul

      Bleed from Within

      While She Sleeps

      Hawk Eyes

      Blitz Kids

      Turbowolf

      James Cleaver Quintet

      Cars On Fire

      Against The Flood

To be honest, I think I never heard any of these bands  :-\

Going to Foo Fighters on Friday!!! Mosh tickets for $120AU (or there abouts)
Also going to Big Day Out Festival early next year tickets were $150AU each(ish): headliners are Kasabian, Kanye West and Soundgarden, other notable/mainstreamers include My chemical Romance, the living end, hilltop hoods... Still very expensive

Went to the MEN Arena to see Coldplay last night for the 3rd time. Have to say, it was the best concert I've ever been to. Absolutely stunning, I can't even put it into words. I took some great photos and videos which I'll upload and link to this page later today when I have the time - I'm off to uni in a minute. Anyone else been to see them on the MX tour?

Glad you enjoyed mate, I've always wanted to see them.

Went to see Kasabian last night. Brilliant as ever, plus the first time I've seen an entire arena (seated an' all) bounce. Fire at the end is up there as one of the best ends to a concert, easily.

Here's a video I took of the start of the gig:

Coldplay Live @ MEN Arena 04/12/11 MX / Hurts Like Heaven

It's impossible to capture the atmosphere on a camera, but this official video does the best job. The flashing wristbands were a huge success, brilliant idea. Hard to describe how magic it was the moment they started flashing as MX kicked in! Just awesome!!

Wow! Wonderful Ally! Not afraid to say I absolutely love this band and even though I wasn't as keen on Mylo Xyloto as previous albums by theirs, Hurts Like Heaven is still my favourite song of the whole year. Saw them on their Viva La Vida tour but it looks like they've really stolen a march on every other band out there in terms of live performances. Stunning live band.

Also I think their guitarist Jonny Buckland is heavily underrated. Those pop guitar hooks/solos on the new album are actually sublime! He seems to have a lovely blend of an Edge like and John Squire like sound.

Don't know yet, mate, I'll let you know. I remember you asking about ticket prices over here before. Rumours floating around that they're about £40.

The plan if for them is to have a couple of years off and then come back for what Nicky Wire called the last phase of their career.

Nice one! £53.50 is approximately R$154, which is more or less what I paid to see them live too. It's expensive but Pearl Jam are totally worth it!

Went to see Pearl Jam in Manchester last night. A lot of singers start to lose their voice over time (Chris Cornell, Axl Rose etc) but Eddie Vedder still sounds the same as he did 15 years ago, absolutely amazing.

I'm very jealous but must admit, I'd be a little disappointed that 'Release' wasn't on that list.

It was the first song of the set last night  8)

      Here is the full setlist:

      http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pearl-jam/2012/manchester-arena-manchester-england-2bdf1c76.html

As an added bonus, there were limited edition prints for sale for this date only by one of my favourite artists, Jeoff Soto. I was determined not to buy any merch but the missus treated me to this as I originally bought the tickets and drove this time. It's a proper print (you can feel the raised print) on thick, heavy paper. Well chuffed.
